SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #38
Overall: #218

Leinart played backseat to Kurt Warner all season. He played in the last three games of the season, but more so in mop-up duty. This could be a make or break offseason for Leinart. He remains the future in Arizona, but needs to start showing he can lead the team. Leinart certainly has the offensive weapons around him to succeed. Leinart doesn't have a great arm, but can make up for that with his accuracy. He can struggle with decision making, though, and doesn't do a very good job with the deep ball.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
His NFL career isn't over, but he is running out of time. He is worth a late-round grab, but don't count on a breakout season from Leinart just yet. Hopefully, he isn't on TMZ too much this offseason.
Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic, reports Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he would like to see QB Matt Leinart (shoulder) play through a sore left shoulder. Leinart has been limited in practice this week. The injury, however, is not considered serious.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart went 6-for-14 for 138 yards, one touchdown and one interception in the team's Week 16 game. He replaced QB Kurt Warner in the third quarter of the game.
Fantasy Impact: Except for one long pass, Leinart had a bad performance as well.

Darren Urban, of AZCardinals.com, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart said he is disappointed he did not win the starting quarterback job but is supportive of QB Kurt Warner. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Leinart still has a future as the team's starting quarterback.

Leinart will head into the season as the backup to Kurt Warner. Coach Ken Whisenhunt believes Leinart likely will play at some point this season, though.
Fantasy Impact: Leinart hasn't progressed as expected and Warner gives the Cardinals the best shot to win, so this isn't a surprise.

The Associated Press reports Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinart threw for 177 yards and a touchdown during the second quarter Friday, Aug. 29. He hit 10 of his 14 passes in the game. It is unknown if he will start the regular season, but Leinart led the team to two touchdowns after taking over for QB Kurt Warner. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt praised both quarterbacks and said choosing the team's starting quarterback will be a tough decision.
Fantasy Impact: It still seems Warner is the starter, but you never know. Leinart rebounded from a terrible outing.

The Arizona Cardinals did not get much production out of their passing game Saturday, Aug. 23, against the Oakland Raiders. QB Matt Leinart went 4-of-12 for 24 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions. QB Kurt Warner didn't toss any interceptions, but he was just 2-of-4 for 40 yards.
Fantasy Impact: This game was a big step backwards for Leinart. Another shaky outing like this and Warner could be starting.
