Wide Receiver Rank: #107 Overall: #325
Smith was on his way to another solid season before a knee injury cut short his year after nine games. Smith needed microfracture surgery on the knee, but it expected to be near full strength for the start of training camp. His knee injury is something to watch, though, as he endured a pretty serious surgery that can be slow to come back from. Before getting hurt, Smith had 48 receptions and was on his way to his second straight 1,000-yard season. Remember, Smith has 107 receptions the previous season, so he is capable of big things if healthy. He has emerged as a top possession receiver, moving the chains and making big plays as a starter in the Giants' offense. Smith runs great routes and can make plays after the catch. He isn't a huge red-zone target with 11 touchdowns in four seasons. He heads to the Eagles this season, likely playing more of a reserve role as a possession receiver in their offense.

Smith is a risk because of his injury situation, but if he comes back healthy, he could be a good get for fantasy owners. Grab him as a reserve and hope for the best in a good Eagles' passing game. He certainly is a good boom or bust pick late in the draft. |
