SUMMARY
Running Back Rank: #73
Overall: #323

Jackson actually found his way in the starting lineup because of a season-ending injury to Ryan Grant. Jackson kind of struggled in that role, though. He did have two games with 99 or more rushing yards and ran for a career-high 703 yards. He reached 1,000 total yards for the first time in his career. But for the most part, he was held in check rushing, having fewer than 50-rushing yards 10 times. And during the playoffs, rookie James Starks emerged as the lead back, putting Jackson back to his usual third-down role, a role he seems best served. Jackson had 43 receptions last season, his highest total of his career, and has 30 or more receptions two of the last three years. Jackson has good speed and runs hard. He also has solid moves in the open field and catches the ball very well out of the backfield. He will get some work as a third-down back for the Browns this season but has two quality backs ahead of him on the depth chart likely to get most of the work at running back.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Jackson won't match last season. He has some upside in PPR leagues, but expect his yardage totals to be closer to 400 or 500 total yards. He won't get the chances with Peyton Hillis and Montario Hardesty getting much of the load at running back. Jackson might be worth a look in PPR leagues, but that is about it.
Cleveland Browns RB Brandon Jackson (toe) has passed his physical and will be able to work out during the offseason and play next season.

Cleveland Browns RB Brandon Jackson ran eight times for 28 yards in the preseason opener Saturday, Aug. 13, against the Green Bay Packers, his former team. Jackson is trying to win the primary backup job behind starter RB Peyton Hillis.
Fantasy Impact: Jackson seems a better bet to be the change-of-pace back than the No. 2.
Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson is likely to serve as the team's third-down running back again this year, unless rookie RB James Starks is able to quickly pick up pass protection, reports Pete Dougherty, of The Green Bay Press-Gazette. Jackson is considered a much better receiver than starter Ryan Grant, and has become an excellent pass protector over the past few years.
Fantasy Impact: Jackson has a little value in PPR leagues in this role.
Greg A. Bedard, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson (ankle) has a serious ankle sprain and there is no timetable for his return.
Fantasy Impact: This injury could cost Jackson the backup job in Green Bay. Drop him down your draft board some.
Rob Demovsky, of The Green Bay Press Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson (shoulder) returned to practice Tuesday evening, Tuesday, Aug. 11. He missed seven full practices due to a shoulder injury. He looked sharp and quick on his feet upon his return, and has moved ahead of RB DeShawn Wynn for the team's No. 2 running back duties.
The Green Bay Packers have declared DL Anthony Toribio, RB Brandon Jackson, OT Breno Giacomini, QB Brian Brohm, LB Danny Lansanah, DL Justin Harrell, FB Korey Hall, OL Nevin McCaskill inactive for Week 16.
Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson (concussion) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 11. Head coach Mike McCarthy said he is likely to play this week.
Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson (concussion) missed the team's practice Wednesday, Sept. 10, and his status for Week 2 is uncertain.
Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson is expected to see a lot of playing time during Week 1.
Tom Pelissero, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers RB Brandon Jackson said Wednesday, June 4, he's added 10 to 15 pounds of "the right kind of weight" during the offseason. He is now up to 220 pounds, eight more than his listed weight in 2007. Jackson sees a lot of progress from last year and said, "I put on a little weight. It's great. I can run with it and everything. And on the mental side, I know my plays, I study a lot, just to stay refreshed on everything."
