Running Back Rank: #77 Overall: #336
McClain once again served as the fullback most of last season, carrying the ball just 28 times. He failed to score a touchdown and ran for just 85 yards. McClain did get a lot of work in the passing game, catching 21 passes for the second straight season. McClain got a chance to get most of the carries in 2008, but has fewer than 50 carries each of the last two seasons. McClain is a better blocker more than anything. He does some things well when he gets some carries, though. McClain isn't a speed demon by any means, but runs hard and moves a pile with his size and strength.

McClain might be worth a reserve spot in deep PPR leagues. He has 19 or more catches three straight seasons. Don't expect much work in the running game, though, unless injuries really hit. McClain should get around 300 total yards and a score or two in his current role. |

| The Kansas City Chiefs could turn to RB Jackie Battle earlier in their Week 5 game. Battle has emerged as a viable part of the rotation at running back after securing a huge first down late in the team's Week 4 game. With the Chiefs limiting RB Dexter McCluster because of his diminutive size and with RB Thomas Jones and FB Le'Ron McClain being ineffective running the ball, Battle should see more playing time. |

| Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent FB Le'Ron McClain is looking to broaden his appeal with free agency on the horizon. McClain has worked out relentlessly this offseason, dropping weight with the goal of adding speed and quickness in order to be viewed as a threat as a blocker and a runner. 'I have no problem getting in there blocking and getting dirty because I love contact,' McClain said. 'I just want to take my game to another level. No disrespect to anybody, not (offensive coordinator) Cam (Cameron), not (head coach) John Harbaugh, not (running backs) Ray Rice or Willis (McGahee). I just don't want to disrespect my game anymore, like I feel like I've done these last two years.' |
