Running Back Rank: #204 Overall: #853
Smith was on the Physically Unable to Perform list much of the season because of a knee injury. He was activated later in the year but ended up injuring his ankle, landing on Injured Reserve. He had just 15 carries in four games. Smith rushed for 133 yards the last two years, though, which is a concern. He is running out of time to make an impact. At this point, he just can't seem to stay healthy. Smith has some ability. He is a big-play back because of plus speed and also isn't a bad receiver out of the backfield.

Smith is young enough to turn it around, but seems a stretch to help fantasy teams. He might get 500 total yards and a couple scores, but that isn't going to help many fantasy teams. |

| Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs RB Kolby Smith (knee) becomes eligible to return to practice and the active roster next week. He has been on the team's physically unable to perform list the first part of the season. Smith may eventually receive a look at least as a part-time back. Smith said he feels good, but he still needs to go through contact drills to see how his knee responds. 'Whenever they say I can play, I'll be out there. I want to make sure I'm right before I come back,' Smith noted. |
