SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #11
Overall: #61

Ryan sure didn't look like a rookie last season. He played well above his age, leading the Falcons to the playoffs and a huge turnaround season. Ryan had touchdowns in 11 of 16 games and completed an impressive 61 percent of his passes. As he continues to grow, the Falcons will give him more and more chances as a passer. Ryan doesn't have a huge arm, but solid enough and is an accurate, intelligent quarterback. He picked up the Falcons offense very quickly. Ryan also quickly developed a rapport with Roddy White, which could be a top combo in the league for years to come.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Consider Ryan a low-end No. 1 quarterback this season. His stats should only get better as he becomes more accustomed to the league. He has the makings of a star in the Peyton Manning mold. A season near 4,000 yards and 25 touchdowns is very possible in '09.
The Associated Press reports Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan has thrown seven interceptions in his last three games.
Fantasy Impact: Ryan is getting pressured more, which is causing his rise in turnovers. We still consider him a solid No. 1 but he isn't in that elite category just yet.

Fantasy Impact: All the best quarterbacks in the league do well against the pass. Ryan is obviously in that elite category these days.

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan is bigger, stronger and more athletic entering his second season in the NFL. He took to the weight room following last season. WR Roddy White said it has helped Ryan's arm, as he is now able to throw the ball further. Other players noted he also scrambles better this season. His growth has also come in the offense, according to WR Brian Finneran, who noted Ryan is more comfortable in the offense, calling plays and knows what to expect better.
Fantasy Impact: Everything is setup for Ryan to have a huge second year in the league.

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan said he feels more comfortable with the offense and his ability to read defenses. 'People don't realize when you're a rookie, it's really not reading defenses that throws you off as a rookie. It's getting the play in your ear, trying to call that play and get everything out, and then execute. It's tough and takes some time to learn and I'm lot more comfortable,' Ryan said.
