SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #53
Overall: #284

The Dolphins used a second-round pick on Henne last season, so he is likely their future at quarterback. But Chad Pennington is keeping the seat warm for now. Henne is probably a few years away from starting. Henne got extensive action in just a game last season, going 7-of-12 for 67 yards. Henne has a strong arm and can make all the throws needed in the NFL, but will struggle with his accuracy at times, especially on the deep throws. He has some time to learn the ropes, though, and get more seasoned.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Henne might get a little more playing time as the Dolphins try to get his feet wet, but not enough for fantasy teams to consider a roster spot. He might not be a bad pickup in dynasty leagues, though. The Dolphins franchise is headed in the right direction.
Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne will take over as the team's starting quarterback. Rookie QB Pat White will serve as the team's No. 2 quarterback, and they plan to look at other options to fill their No. 3 quarterback role.
Fantasy Impact: Henne didn't look good Sunday. He should get better as he gets more first-team reps, but isn't likely to be much of a fantasy factor.

Omar Kelly, of the South Florida SunSentinel, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne will finish the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 22, because the team wants to see him finish a game and run the two-minute drill.

Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano said QB Chad Henne will receive a good chunk of playing time in the team's preseason game Monday, Aug. 17.

Jeff Darlington, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne is accompanying the team's decision makers when they hold private workouts with wide receiver prospects so he can throw passes to the players.

Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins want QB Chad Henne to be the starting quarterback in 2010. According to a source, the Dolphins plan to give Henne extensive playing time in the preseason while limiting QB Chad Pennington. However, Pennington will enter 2009 as the unquestioned starter.

Armando Salguero, of The Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne has impressed vice president Bill Parcells, general manager Jeff Ireland and head coach Tony Sparano with his arm strength and movement in practice and the three games he played in last year. Once Henne gains some experience, the Dolphins feel he will be an upgrade over QB Chad Pennington because of his arm strength, and he should help the development of the passing game.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne went 7-for-12 for 67 yards in a relief role Week 2.
Fantasy Impact: We don't see Henne taking over the starting job yet, but he could by season's end.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne was 16-for-20 for 137 yards with a touchdown and an interception during the team's preseason game Thursday, Aug. 28.
Fantasy Impact: Henne will be the top backup for the Dolphins this season. He had a solid preseason.

The Associated Press reports Miami Dolphins rookie QB Chad Henne hit 5-of-10 passes for 67 yards during preseason action Saturday, Aug. 9, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He led the Dolphins on two scoring drives and did not throw an interception. "He threw the ball away, which is one of those situations that we talked about," Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said. "He made a couple nice throws there on some back-shoulder throws."
Fantasy Impact: Henne has probably been the best quarterback for the Dolphins so far, but the addition of Chad Pennington really hurts his chances to start.

Barry Jackson, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Henne has surprised some veteran defensive players with how much he has injected himself into the starting quarterback race. DE Vonnie Holliday said, "I like the way the guy carries himself. He's not intimidated." S Yeremiah Bell said Henne has exceeded expectations. Bell added, "He has a chance to win this job. You can't overlook that he's very impressive."
