SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #69
Overall: #394

Flynn was a surprise for the Packers, beating out highly-touted rookie Brian Brohm for the backup job. He also played in a few games, attempting five passes. He'll once again compete with Brohm to backup Aaron Rodgers, but since he held him off last year, a repeat of last season is a real possibility. Flynn has good size and is fairly accurate. His arm isn't overwhelming, but gets the job done.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Flynn could have some value if he backs up Rodgers, again. Rodgers has proved to be a little injury prone, so Flynn could be a hot item on waiver wires at some point during the season.
Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Matt Flynn is well ahead of QB Brian Brohm for the backup quarterback position.
Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers backup QB Matt Flynn said he was not tentative during Week 4 when he played seven fourth-quarter snaps. He failed to generate a first down and threw two poor passes. "It was just the first time in there. That was a tough situation to be in," Flynn said. He noted if he has to play during Week 5 that he needs to be sharp and play "the best game I've ever played."
Greg A. Bedard and Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, report Green Bay Packers QB Matt Flynn will be the No. 2 quarterback to start the season.
Tom Pelissero, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Matt Flynn is challenging QB Brian Brohm for the No. 2 job. "I think Matt's definitely closing the gap, there's no doubt about it," head coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday, Aug. 13. "I think he's really been pushing Brian here probably about the last eight to 10 days."
Tom Pelissero, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers QB Matt Flynn appears to be having trouble finding his rhythm passing the ball. Flynn was 1-for-7 during team drills and had trouble with the snap from center a few times.
