Hartley injured his hip before last season and didn't play all year. He will be healthy enough to play this year but the Saints aren't handing him the kicker's job. He'll compete with veteran John Kasay for the starting spot. Hartley is the clear favorite but he'll need to prove he is healthy and kicking well to win the job. Hartley makes 86 percent of his kicks for his career and averages 7.6 points per game for his career. Hartley has a very strong leg and is pretty accurate. He plays in a great offense and should get plenty of chances as the top kicker for the Saints as long as he is starting.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Hartley is a top kicker in a great offense. He has a few more concerns than many of the top kickers out there because of his competition to start and off the field issues. But as long as he is starting, he is an elite fantasy kicker worth of taking as your No. 1 kicker. He is capable of scoring 130-plus points in this offense.
