Summary

Running Back Rank: #138
Overall: #619

Ball became the top backup for Denver last season after an injury to Knowshon Moreno. Ball did pretty well in this role, finishing with a career-high 550 total yards. He set career highs across the board. Ball had double-digit carries two times and topped 50-rushing yards three times. He averaged a solid 4.2 yards per carry and caught 16 passes. He could serve a similar role for the Broncos this coming season. He has the skill set to be a solid third-down back. Ball isn't a huge back but has good speed, moves and hands. And while Ball isn't too big, he doesn't do too badly between the tackles, which help his case for playing time.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Ball might have a hard time matching last season's numbers but he could come close. Another season with around 500 total yards and a few scores seems about right for him. He might be worth a late-round pick come draft day, depending on how deep your rosters are in your league.

Notes

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball carried 11 times for 64 yards and a touchdown in Week 15 against the New England Patriots, getting more playing time with RB Willis McGahee (leg) in and out of the lineup due to injury. Ball also had two receptions for 41 yards, but he lost a key fumble, too.
Fantasy Impact: Ball hasn't done too badly when given more chances. He could have a bigger role the last two games with McGahee banged up.

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball had five carries for 18 yards, and he added two catches for 26 yards, in the Week 11 win against the New York Jets Thursday, Nov. 17. Ball was actually more efficient than starter RB Willis McGahee (hamstring), who averaged just 1.5 yards per carry on 12 rushes.
Fantasy Impact: None of the backs had much room to run with the Jets stacking the line.

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball rushed for 96 yards on 30 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10. Ball received most of the carries because of injuries to RBs Willis McGahee (hamstring) and Knowshon Moreno (knee).
Fantasy Impact: Ball is worth adding if McGahee and Moreno remain out. He'll get a lot of work in a run-heavy offense.

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball rushed six times for 63 yards in Week 8 against the Detroit Lions, and he added a four-yard reception. Ball also lost one fumble.
Fantasy Impact: Ball did well with his chances. He should continue to get work as long as Willis McGahee is out.

The Denver Broncos are expected to go into Week 8 with only RBs Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball as the running backs.
Fantasy Impact: Both backs don't have a ton of value but might be worth looks as flex plays Week 8.

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball scored on his only touch in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders, posting a nine-yard touchdown reception.

The Denver Broncos have signed practice squad RB Lance Ball to their active roster, reports Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Fantasy Impact: He'll serve a depth role with the team but that is about it.

Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball has earned a roster spot with the team through steadiness of running and blocking, reports Mike Klis, of The Denver Post. However, he is considered a stopgap until RBs Knowshon Moreno (hamstring), Correll Buckhalter (neck, back) and LenDale White (suspension) are ready to go.
Fantasy Impact: Ball could get some playing time early in the season with Moreno less than 100 percent.
Denver Broncos RB Lance Ball continues to work with the first-team offense due to injuries at the running back position, reports Lindsay Jones, of The Denver Post. RB Justin Fargas could be pushing him for that spot, though, as he has impressed with strong running between the tackles.
