SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #63
Overall: #324

McGee saw the field for the first time in his NFL career last season. He was the No. 3 for the Cowboys once again, but moved up the depth chart because of injury. McGee played the last two games of the season, scoring two touchdowns while not throwing an interception. McGee didn't throw for more than 200 yards in either game, but did rush for 74 yards, showing his ability to run the ball. McGee did enough to show he could be a capable No. 2 as early as this season. McGee is fairly skilled. He has a plus arm and is a good enough athlete to make plays with his feet. His accuracy needs a lot of work, though, and McGee had a tendency to force some throws last season. He still needs a lot of seasoning.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
McGee should a little promise last season, but the chances of him helping fantasy teams in 2011 seems pretty slim. Give him a look if forced into action, but don't use a draft pick on him.
Dallas Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones has said the team would be comfortable with QB Stephen McGee entering training camp next season as their No. 2 quarterback.

The Dallas Cowboys will have to decide whether they want to have QB Stephen McGee as their primary backup quarterback or sign a veteran quarterback in free agency. Head coach Jason Garrett said this will be an important decision for the team this offseason.

Dallas Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said that the team would feel comfortable with QB Stephen McGee as the No. 2 quarterback in 2012.
Fantasy Impact: He could get the nod with Jon Kitna retiring. We'll see.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee completed 24 of 38 passes for 182 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in the Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He came on for the injured QB Tony Romo (hand).
Fantasy Impact: McGee did alright when pressed into action but showed he probably isn't ready to be a n every-week starter.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee likely would be the primary backup quarterback in Week 11 if QB Jon Kitna (back) is not available to play.

Dallas Cowboys third-string QB Stephen McGee shined Thursday, Aug. 11, in a preseason win over the Denver Broncos. He hit 14 of 24 passes for 208 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during the game.
Fantasy Impact: McGee really has the makeup to be a top NFL backup. He'll be the No. 3 in Dallas this season, though.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee likely will not be given the opportunity to compete for the No. 2 quarterback during training camp because he was not able to work out in front of coaches and learn how he could improve his play.
Fantasy Impact: McGee did some good things in a starting role last season, but the Cowboys don't seem sold on him as their backup just yet.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee may have his repititions limited if there is a shortened training camp or less preseason games because of the lockout.

Dallas Cowboys QB Stephen McGee went 11-for-27 for 127 yards and one touchdown in the team's Week 17 game against the Philadelphia Eagles, reports The Associated Press. He also rushed for 55 yards on nine carries in the game. It was the first start of his career.
Fantasy Impact: McGee wasn't great in the game but led the Cowboys to victory and did some good things along the way. He could be a solid backup the next few seasons with the potential to start down the road.

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett seemed to strongly indicate QB Stephen McGee will start in Week 17 against the Philadelphia Eagles, reports Tom Orsborn, of the San Antonio Express-News. '(McGee's) a capable guy, he can move around in the pocket, he can throw the football, there is nothing you can say like, 'Hey we can't do this with Stephen,'' Garrett said Thursday, Dec. 30. 'He's done a nice job in practice and hopefully he can carry that to the ball game.'
Fantasy Impact: We would be surprised if McGee didn't get the start this week.
