SUMMARY
Quarterback Rank: #72
Overall: #386

Painter was the top backup to Peyton Manning last year. He didn't get in a game in this role as Manning was healthy all season. He got in two games his rookie season, but struggled in those outings, going just 8-of-28 for 83 yards with two interceptions and no touchdowns. Painter has some potential and a good guy to learn from, but needs some work to be a productive NFL player. Painter has a pro arm, but needs to improve his accuracy. He had a tendency to struggle under pressure in college, which seems to have carried over to the NFL a little. He needs to cut down on his forced throws. Painter will challenge for the top backup job this season.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Painter has little value playing behind Manning, who rarely misses a game. Plus, Painter is no sure thing to be the top backup this season. If he happens to get in some games because of injury, Painter could help fantasy teams in a pinch in that role.
Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter went 15-for-29 for 226 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Week 12 against the Carolina Panthers.
Fantasy Impact: Painter continues his struggles. You have to wonder why the Colts keep sticking with him as their starter.

Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter was benched in favor of QB Dan Orlovsky during the team's Week 9 game and there was no word of any injuries for Painter.
Fantasy Impact: At this rate, we aren't sure how much longer the Colts can stick with Painter as their starter.
Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter went 13-for-27 for 98 yards and one interception against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9.
Fantasy Impact: Another really poor showing for Painter, who was eventually benched in the game.

Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter went 26-for-49 for 250 yards and two interceptions against the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. He also rushed for 79 yards on seven carries in the game.
Fantasy Impact: Not a great showing for Painter but he accumulated some points on the ground for fantasy owners. He isn't playing great right now but the Colts don't really have another quarterback to turn.

Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter completed nine of his 17 pass attempts for just 67 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints. He also lost a fumble. Painter was lifted in the fourth quarter with the score at 62-7, as QB Dan Orlovsky replaced him.
Fantasy Impact: Painter had a game to forget. He really struggled, getting pressured often by the Saints' defense. We think he'll remain the starter but needs to pick up his play. He took a step back this week after a few solid showings.
Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter went 23-for-34 for 188 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
Fantasy Impact: Painter didn't have a terrible game but he wasn't super sharp against a good Bengals' defense.

Indianapolis Colts QB Curtis Painter went 15-for-27 for 277 yards and two touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact: Painter played another solid game. He should really be the starter from here on out for the Colts.
