He got his most extensive work the last game of the season, going 7-of-13 for 122 yards and a touchdown without an interception. Hoyer hasn't been too bad in two NFL seasons, completing 62 percent of his passes. He seems to have a pretty firm grip on the backup job in New England. Hoyer has pretty good size and a decent arm. He has displayed good leadership qualities, especially in college, which is encouraging for his NFL career Hoyer is young and still has a lot to learn (i.e. reading defenses), but has a great guy to learn from in Brady. FANTASY OUTLOOK Hoyer is decent insurance for Tom Brady owners, but probably isn't worth a roster spot just yet. He'll be a hot item on waivers if Brady were to get hurt, though.
