Summary

Quarterback Rank: #104
Overall: #615

Bartel was the No. 3 in Arizona last season but got some chances because of injury, attempting 22 passes. He threw for just 86 yards and had a touchdown with an interception. He has 20-plus pass attempts each of the last two seasons in a reserve role for the Cardinals. Bartel isn't starter material but can help as a backup. He has played little despite being 29 years old, getting in three NFL games during his career. Bartel has a decent arm and is fairly accurate. He moves around the pocket pretty well but seems a little slow to read defenses and will make some mistakes with the ball.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Bartel might be lucky to attempt 20-plus passes once again in 2012. He is more No. 3 material for NFL teams than anything. He isn't worth drafting for fantasy teams.

Arizona Cardinals QB Richard Bartel is considered a strong candidate for the team's third quarterback job, perhaps battling QB Max Hall for the job if the team trades for a signal caller once the lockout is resolved. Hall might end up on the practice squad.
Fantasy Impact: Bartel wasn't too bad when given the chance last season, so he seems a good fit for a backup role.

Arizona Cardinals QB Richard Bartel is believed to have a leg up over QB Max Hall for the No. 3 job, reports Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic.
Fantasy Impact: It should be a close battle as Hall probably has more upside but Bartel is more polished.

Arizona Cardinals QBs John Skelton and Richard Bartel shared reps with the first-team offense during practice Wednesday, Dec. 8, reports Kent Somers, of The Arizona Republic. Head coach Ken Whisenhunt said he is not ready to name a starter for Week 14.
Fantasy Impact: You would think Skelton would have the upperhand, but the Cardinals clearly don't have much confidence in him if a guy just signed is already sharing reps.
