Housler didn't get a whole lot of playing time his rookie season, catching 12 passes for 133 yards. He was third on the depth chart most of the season. His season high in catches was three while his high yardage total was 28. Housler has a chance to move up the depth chart this season, though, and could eventually be the starter for the Cardinals. Housler has plus speed for the tight end spot and his size makes him a big target over the middle in the passing game. He is a top athlete that could become the starter in Arizona if he improves his blocking.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Housler will be hit and miss, making him a risk for fantasy teams. He could develop into a solid fantasy option in time, though. For now, consider him a low-end No. 2 or No. 3 fantasy tight end. He could get 500 yards and a few scores.

The Arizona Cardinals might lean upon TE Rob Housler in Week 7 against the Pittsburgh Steelers with TEs Todd Heap (hamstring) and Jim Dray (pectoral) ailing. 'I am excited about Rob because of some of the things you have seen him do, but he's a young football player,' head coach Ken Whisenhunt said Friday, Oct. 21. 'There are a lot of things he hasn't seen in a game that Todd has.'
Fantasy Impact: Housler is worth a look in deeper leagues if you are looking for tight end help Week 7.

The Florida Atlantic University product is battling for a backup job. His 'head is spinning' trying to learn the offense, according to reports, but he showed well Friday.
Fantasy Impact: He made plays and seems to be the future at tight end for the Cardinals.

Arizona Cardinals rookie TE Rob Housler, a third-round selection, will compete with TEs Jim Dray and possibly Stephen Spach, who is currently unsigned, for the team's starting job at tight end. Housler said the Cardinals were one of the teams to show pre-draft interest in him, and he feels he brings pass-catching ability to the system. He did, however, note he needs to work on his blocking ability.
Fantasy Impact: Housler has the most ability of the tight end's on the roster, but he won't be handed the starting job.
