Harper got very little work his rookie season, serving as the No. 3 back. He had 17 carries and four receptions in 13 games. He'll likely serve a similar role in 2012, having two quality backs ahead of him on the depth chart. Harper is a big-play threat with top speed and moves in the open field. Harper does lack some strength to be an every-down back at this point of his career, but could change that with hard work in the offseason. Harper also is a solid pass catcher, which helps his chances to get on the field a little more - maybe as a third-down back.

FANTASY OUTLOOK

Harper might be worth a late look in deeper leagues but that is about it. He has some upside with the ball in his hands but likely isn't getting much work this season. He might be a few years away from helping fantasy teams in any way.

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said RB Jamie Harper might see carries if RB Javon Ringer (back) is unable to play in Week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Fantasy Impact: Harper might be worth a flier in really deep leagues but don't expect much with Chris Johnson getting the bulk of the work.

Tennessee Titans RB Jamie Harper got his chance to shine with RB Chris Johnson holding out, and RB Javon Ringer (hip) missed from the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 20, against the St. Louis Rams. Harper carried 11 times for 83 yards and a touchdown, helping to perhaps secure a roster spot.

Fantasy Impact: Harper had a strong showing and showed he could be a factor if forced into a role with the Titans.
