St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said the team is expected to use a committee approach in the backfield this year between Daryl Richardson, Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy. The overall youth in the backfield is a concern in terms of pass protection. Stacy caught the ball well during a practice session Tuesday, June 11.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said he is pleased with how RB Isaiah Pead has reacted to a one-game suspension. 'He obviously has to suffer the consequences and miss the game. But I'm pleased with how he's bounced back and his professional approach to being a member of this team.' Fisher said Pead missing Week 1 will not complicate sorting out the depth chart at running back.
Fantasy Impact: He might be handling this poorly but it certainly can't help his chances to be the starter for the Rams.
St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead was suspended for the first game of the 2013 season for violating the NFL program on substance abuse.
Fantasy Impact: This isn't a great way to win the starting running back job.

St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead is expected to compete for the starting running back job during offseason workouts and training camp. Head coach Jeff Fisher said Pead will not be used as punt returner and would only be a kick returner if he is used as a returner at all.
Fantasy Impact: Pead seems the front runner for the starting job right now but nothing is too certain right now. His value is rising right now, though.

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher said he thinks RB Isaiah Pead could be the lead back for the Rams and that is why he was drafted. RB Steven Jackson is expected to void his contract March 12 and test unrestricted free agency; even though there is a chance he could return to the team.
Fantasy Impact: He didn't get much playing time but it seems the Rams remain high on Pead and he could play a big role in 2013.
St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead showed well late in the Week 8 game against the New England Patriots, and head coach Jeff Fisher indicated he might have earned more playing time. 'We are going to try to get him some touches. It makes sense. You are playing in an NFL game; you are playing against NFL players and for him to flash like that regardless of the situation in the game was pretty impressive,' Fisher said.
Fantasy Impact: He still isn't worth owning but could be playing more going forward.

St. Louis Rams RB Isaiah Pead did not have any carries or receptions in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions, although he was able to play. Pead's only game action came with one kickoff return for 25 yards. RB Daryl Richardson apparently past Pead on the team's depth chart. Richardson carried twice for 20 yards.
Fantasy Impact: Richardson seems the handcuff for Steven Jackson right now.

St. Louis Rams rookie RB Isaiah Pead needs to embrace a north-south running style. He ran backward at times during the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 18, and his eight touches resulted in minus-8 yards. In his defense, the second-string offensive line has not given him a lot to work with during the past two games.
Fantasy Impact: Pead hasn't been great in either preseason game but has plenty of time to get better. He'll be the top backup for the Rams this year.

St. Louis Rams rookie RB Isaiah Pead is considered the top backup to starting RB Steven Jackson. The second and third preseason games are expected to show exactly how the team will use Pead.
The St. Louis Rams might take a while to sort out their return men during training camp and the preseason. WR Danny Amendola, CB Janoris Jenkins, RB Isaiah Pead, RB Daryl Richardson and WR Greg Salas are among the candidates for return duties.
