Notes
Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he knows he has to prepare as if he will be the team's Week 1 starter at quarterback in case QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is not ready. 'You feel that added excitement or added urgency to be ready to go,' Cousins said. 'We don't know what it's going to look like. He may be ready by mid-August. He may be ready mid-September, mid-October. I don't know. That's not my job. My job is to get myself ready and when called upon, deliver. And I'm going to do all I can between now and then to do that.'

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he will be ready to start Week 1 if QB Robert Griffin III (knee) is not ready to come back from his knee injury. 'What I do know is I need to be ready and I will be,' Cousins said. 'And I will benefit greatly from the reps I get throughout (off-season workouts) as well as training camp and preseason games this coming August. I do believe he's gonna heal very quickly. I don't want to put any pressure on him to heal as fast as an [Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson], did but it wouldn't surprise me.'

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins said he believes he can run the read-option offense but would have to be crisper in his ball handling and decision making because he is not as fast as QBs Robert Griffin III (knee) or QB Pat White. Cousins said he would be willing to work on the read-option plays during offseason workouts and training camp if the coaches want him to work on them.

The Buffalo Bills may try to acquire Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins this offseason if the scouting staff believes that Cousins is significantly better than any of the quarterback prospects in the 2013 NFL Draft. The Redskins have indicated they would be open to listening to offers for Cousins.

Washington Redskins WR Leonard Hankerson said there is little difference between QBs Robert Griffin III and Kirk Cousins as far as guiding the offense. 'I honestly don't think it was that much different at all because both of those guys are high energy guys, they both come in the huddle with a whole lot of confidence, they talk to us a lot and I think they pretty much come in the same way,' Hankerson said. 'Even though Kirk hasn't been a starter for the past 13 games, he always in practice, he always comes in with high intensity and he talks to us all the same like he has been the starter. Kirk, he's a guy that prepares hard each and every week like he is the starter and it obviously showed on Sunday.'
Fantasy Impact: Not so sure about this but it is clear Cousins can handle the job just fine if asked to start.
Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins completed 15-of-19 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns after a playaction fake in Week 15. The Redskins have now passed for a league-leading 1,980 yards this season after playaction fakes.

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins went 26-for-37 for 329 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 15 against the Cleveland Browns.
Fantasy Impact: Cousins had a good first start as a pro. He could have a future in this league as an NFL starter. He certainly looks the part.

Washington Redskins QB Kirk Cousins would likely get his first NFL start in Week 6 against the Minnesota Vikings if QB Robert Griffin III (concussion) suffers any sort of setback this week following a concussion in the Week 5 game against the Atlanta Falcons. The team also has QB Rex Grossman on the roster, but he has been inactive in each of the team's five games this season.
