SUMMARY
Tight End Rank: #4
Overall: #39

Gonzalez just keeps going, going and going. He had another huge season last year, posting his second straight 1,000-yard season. He also had 90-plus receptions for the second straight season. The Chiefs employed a spread offense during the season, and Gonzalez flourished as the top option in the attack. He had three 100-yard games and two double-digit reception games. Gonzalez has at least 900-receivng yards in six consecutive seasons. He finally gets out of Kansas City, though, getting traded to the Falcons. Atlanta is more of a run-first team, but has a solid offense and should provide Gonzalez with plenty of targets. And while Gonzalez is getting older (33), he continues to prove he isn't done yet. Gonzalez is a great athlete and an extremely tough cover at tight end. He makes the tough catch in traffic because of his size, but can also outrun defenders because of his speed.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Gonzo returned to the top of the scoring list for tight ends last season. And he remains a top-five option for the coming year, even with his move to Atlanta. We don't see him slowing down just yet. Another season with 900 yards and eight touchdowns is likely.

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN.com, reports Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez said he feels like a rookie because he has to learn new things and is still not quite comfortable with the changes. 'I'll admit I'm still somewhat uncomfortable,' said Gonzalez. 'I'm learning a new offense, I'm making new friends, learning a new freeway system. All the things going into switching teams, I'm going through it right now and it's kind of tough, like being a rookie all over again.'
Fantasy Impact: Gonzo is likely to see a drop in production with his move to a new team, but remains a solid No. 1 for fantasy teams.

Chuck Oliver, of ESPN 1230 The Fan 2 in Atlanta, reports the Atlanta Falcons have been dusting off plays that involve the tight end position more during training camp and getting the ball into the hands of TE Tony Gonzalez more often.

J. Michael Moore, of AtlantaFalcons.com, reports Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez will catch his share of passes in the Falcons offense this season. However, with the offense built around RB Michael Turner, Gonzalez will be relied upon to be a productive blocking tight end. 'Tony will help our offense in a number of ways,' offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey said. 'One thing he's going to do is that he's a productive blocker and that's important in our offense ... As successful as he's been as a receiver, he's a good blocker too and he really doesn't get the credit that he should.'
