Summary

Running Back Rank: #225All Players: #874
Faulk returned from his major knee injury but played just seven games and had fewer than 100 total yards. At age 36, his career is likely over. Faulk was a top pass-catching running back in his heyday. Before the previous two seasons, Faulk had four straight seasons with 37 or more receptions. He was a great checkdown option. Faulk is a shifty runner with good hands.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Faulk isn't likely to play, so go with younger options with more upside.

Free-agent RB Kevin Faulk (Patriots) has said he will either return to the New England Patriots or retire. At this point, the team has a bevy of runners heading into training camp, including undrafted rookie RB Brandon Bolden, who could make some noise. A reunion with Faulk seems unlikely at this point.

Free-agent RB Kevin Faulk (Patriots) hasn't given up hope of a return to the New England Patriots in 2012. However, the team has not reached out to Faulk about returning. 'I hope so. I'm still praying, hoping,' Faulk said. 'If it doesn't happen, hey, I had a long run. God has blessed me with a long career as a running back, as a football player in general. But if it doesn't happen, hey, I'm moving on.'
Fantasy Impact: Faulk is done.

There is a possibility that New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk returns in 2012. He has contemplated retirement, but that is still considered up in the air at this point.
Fantasy Impact: Even if he comes back, that doesn't mean he'll find work. He is a long shot to produce.

New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk is not yet ready to announce his retirement from the NFL. If Faulk does resume his career, he would like to continue playing for the Patriots. 'Of course, I'd like to be involved in the New England Patriots; let's keep it at that,' Faulk said. "I've been here 13 years playing and if I happen to retire or they don't happen to bring me back, I'm still going to be a New England Patriot ... I'm very blessed and fortunate that I have a few options.'
Fantasy Impact: It would be a surprise to see Faulk playing in 2012. He did little this past season and isn't getting any younger.

New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk said he was crushed when he found out he was deactivated for Super Bowl XLVI. His first reaction was to go back into his room and shed a few tears. 'That morning when I got the word that I wasn't going to dress - wow,' Faulk said. '(I) cried a little bit because 75 percent of me knew that this could possibly be my last game playing - not playing just dressing. If I dressed there could possibly be that much of a chance that I could play, so that really crushed me a whole lot.' Faulk is not yet ready to make a decision on his playing future.
