SUMMARY
Running Back Rank: #132
Overall: #585

Morris played every game last season, but had just 20 carries, his lowest since joining the Patriots. He ran for just 56 yards, averaging 2.8 yards per carry. At age 34, Morris is about done in the NFL. Morris has never been an elite back, but does well in spot duty. He has six seasons with 300-plus rushing yards. Morris isn't a huge back, but runs with some power and has decent speed. Morris also isn't a bad receiver, which can get him on the field a little more.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Morris really saw a dip in production last season, which is a huge concern at his age. His days of reaching 500 total yards are over. Go with younger and more exciting options.
Dallas Cowboys RB Sammy Morris carried 13 times for just 29 yards in the Week 16 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He also had four receptions for 10 yards. Morris saw an increased workload with RB Felix Jones (hamstring) dealing with a hamstring injury coming in, but Morris struggled.
Fantasy Impact: Morris didn't have much of a showing in an expanded role, showing he is probably better suited for a backup role at this point of his career.

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Friday, Dec. 23, that RB Sammy Morris will have a bigger role than expected in Week 16. 'Morris has been a pleasant surprise,' Jones said in a radio interview Friday. 'He's had a good week. Sammy Morris, I think tomorrow he is going to play and he's going to play more than we thought he was going to play thinking back last week. I'm confident he will do the job.'
Fantasy Impact: Morris is worth a look as a flex play for Week 16.

Dallas Cowboys RB Sammy Morris could have a bigger role in the offense in Week 16 with RB Felix Jones (hamstring) being questionable for the game.

Dallas Cowboys RB Sammy Morris could become the team's third-down back to help spell RB Felix Jones.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed free-agent RB Sammy Morris (Patriots) and FS Mana Silva (Ravens). Terms of the deals were not disclosed.
Fantasy Impact: We don't expect much from Morris. He won't get enough weekly touches to help fantasy teams.

Updating a previous report, the Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to meet with free-agent RB Sammy Morris (Patriots) and are expected to sign him.

The Dallas Cowboys could choose to sign free-agent RB Sammy Morris (Patriots) to help deal with the loss of RB DeMarco Murray (ankle). Free-agent RB Lonyae Miller (Raiders) is another option.

The Kansas City Chiefs worked out free-agent RB Sammy Morris (Patriots), according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Morris was not signed to a contract.

The New England Patriots have released veteran RB Sammy Morris. The Patriots typically keep five running backs on roster, but with the team holding onto three quarterbacks this season they had to trim a player from another position.
Fantasy Impact: Morris is likely done in the NFL.

The New England Patriots have agreed to terms with free-agent RB Sammy Morris (Patriots) on a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Fantasy Impact: Kind of a surprise, considering the depth at running back for the Patriots. Morris will struggle to get much playing time - if he makes the roster.
