Quarterback Rank: #4 Overall: #37
It is hard to imagine, but Brady might have enjoyed his best season last year. He posted gaudier numbers in 2007, but he had less to work with at receiver this past season and was near flawless much of the year. He had just four interceptions all season, going the last 11 games of the regular season without an interception. Brady had 37 total touchdowns to four interceptions. He had four 300-yard games and finished just shy of another 4,000-yard season (3,900). Brady was healthy, a year removed from major knee surgery, and as efficient as ever. In his last six full seasons, Brady averages 4,073-passing yards and 32 touchdown passes. He also has 24 or more total touchdowns eight straight full seasons. The Patriots remain a pass-first team with Brady at the helm. New England doesn't have the most exciting group of receivers anymore, but some promising younger options (mostly at tight end). Brady does a great job of distributing the ball to all his options and rarely turns the ball over. He has a strong arm and is extremely accurate. Brady knows the offense well and makes the most of his abilities.

The numbers don't lie. Brady is an elite fantasy quarterback. You can make a strong case for him to be the top quarterback this season, especially with some emerging talents at tight end (guys that are top red-zone targets). You can pencil Brady in for 4,000 yards and 30-plus touchdowns. His consistency makes him a very safe fantasy quarterback and is a reason why some owners like to splurge early on a quarterback. |

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady (shoulder) aggravated an earlier left shoulder sprain in the third quarter of Super Bowl XLVI. The aggravation did not lead to further injury, and it's also not believed to be an injury that will require attention during the offseason.

New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs apologized Wednesday, Feb. 8, for telling reporters that supermodel Gisele Bundchen should 'stay cute and shut up.' Jacobs said he should respect New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's wife. 'Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that,' Jacobs said. 'It's his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else.'

Former New England Patriots SS Rodney Harrison, now an analyst for NBC, doesn't believe the heat QB Tom Brady is taking in New England and elsewhere following Super Bowl XLVI is justified. 'I don't think it's fair,' Harrison said. 'I think it ultimately comes down to 'team.' A lot of times, quarterbacks, as well as coaches, they get too much credit sometimes. But I don't think Tom should take the heat. He had opportunities to make some plays, and he did. Some guys dropped some balls, that's all part of football. They had opportunities. But I think it's just the media's way of saying, 'Finally, we get a chance to say something negative about him. Finally, we get a chance to torch him.''

The wife of New England Patriots QB Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, was critical of the team's receivers, who dropped passes late in Super Bowl XLVI. While making her way toward the elevator following the game, New York Giants fans were harassing Bundchen, yelling, 'Eli rules, Eli owns your husband.' She replied, 'You (need) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times.'
Fantasy Impact: Probably not a great move on his wife's part but the super model probably can get away with it.

On the final play of Super Bowl XLVI, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady's Hail Mary pass reached the end zone, where TE Aaron Hernandez had a chance at catching it cleanly, and TE Rob Gronkowski nearly grabbed it off the deflection. Gronkowski said following the game he had a chance of making the play. 'It was just a jump ball,' Gronkowski said. 'Aaron did a good job going up there and we almost had it, but almost isn't enough.'

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady completed 16 of his 25 passes in Super Bowl XLVI with at least two tight ends on the field for 158 yards, his lowest total in any game with both TEs Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski (ankle) active. Brady's 6.3 yards per attempt with at least two tight ends on the field was two full yards below his 8.3 season average.
Fantasy Impact: Not having a healthy Gronk made a difference in this game.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady said he remains happy with his legacy, even though he failed to capture a fourth Super Bowl title. 'I've been lucky enough to play in this game five times in 10 years. I'd love to keep coming back to this game and taking a shot. It's better than sitting home and not playing in this game,' Brady said.

New England Patriots QB Tom Brady finished Super Bowl XLVI 27 for 41 for 276 yards with two touchdown passes and one interception. Brady, down 21-17 with 57 seconds remaining, could not lead the team into the end zone on the final play as his pass fell just out of the reach of TE Rob Gronkowski. His receivers dropped several passes during the fourth quarter, including some key drops on the team's final possession. 'Certainly it wasn't one play that was the reason we lost. Everybody feels they could do a little more. I'd rather come to this game and lose than not get here,' Brady said of his second Super Bowl loss. Brady set an NFL record with 16 consecutive completions during the game.
Fantasy Impact: Brady played well enough for the Patriots to win. This one isn't all on him.

New York Giants DL Jason Pierre-Paul said New England Patriots QB Tom Brady is worried about the Giants' pass rush, so much so that he felt pressure that didn't exist in the two teams' meeting earlier this year. 'Yeah, he was. Yeah, he was reacting to pressure that didn't exist and he was just throwing the ball places that there wasn't a receiver there. So imagine us just getting there even faster and we're actually doing out jobs and getting there and getting hits on him,' Pierre-Paul said.
