Summary

Kicker Rank: #66
Overall: #983

Reed split time with the Steelers and 49ers last season, ending the season with San Francisco. The Steelers let him go after a shaky start to his season, making 15-of-22 field goals in nine games. Reed fared better with the 49ers, going 9-of-10 in five games. Reed had another 100-points season, finishing with 104 points between the two teams. Reed has 100-point seasons in all but one, his first in the league. Reed makes 82 percent of his kicks for his career and has been pretty accurate up until last season. Reed is 32 years old, so he has time to turn it around. His accuracy has improved since early in his career. He doesn't have a booming leg, making just eight kicks of 50-plus yards in nine seasons. But Reed is pretty accurate and dependable, making up for his so-so leg.
FANTASY OUTLOOK
Reed isn't too exciting of an option at kicker, especially after last season. He is likely to start in 2011, but going with more dependable options is likely a good idea. Nothing is guaranteed with Reed after getting cut by his long-time team last season.

Notes

In addition to free-agent PK Nick Novak (Jets), the San Diego Chargers might also be interested in free-agent PKs Dave Rayner (Lions) and Jeff Reed (Seahawks) as they look to replace PK Nate Kaeding (knee), who is out for the season.
