NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the Seattle Seahawks by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (17)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 16) - Back to earth after surreal Monday night.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 19) - Offense led by Russell Wilson is not generating enough points.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 17) - Comment currently unavailable
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 24) - Time for a QB change?
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 16) - After three picks by rookie Russell Wilson, Pete Carroll isn't ready to turn to Matt Flynn. More arm problems for the former Packers' backup. Suspect that's the big reason Wilson has the job in the first place.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 20) - The Seahawks have the worst passing offense in a pass-happy league.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 16) - I love their defense. What I don't love is their quarterback. Russell Wilson is a great story, but I don't know that you can win at this level with a 5-10 rookie.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 20) - Strong on the ground and hapless through the air, Seattle has a lot to prove on the road.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 15) - The Seahawks have to be sick with the fake field goal for a touchdown last week, but young teams have to learn. The Seattle defense is still good enough to keep them in every game they play.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 17) - Russell Wilson has great intangibles, but intangibles alone are not enough in the NFL. This defense will keep them in most games though.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 17) - The Seahawks lost to St. Louis in the same way they defeated Green Bay - on a fluke. Rarely does a team score all of its points on special teams and still win like the Rams did in Sunday's 19-13 home victory.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 17) - The Seahawks are starting to look like one of the most inconsistent teams in the league: capable of winning the ones they aren't supposed to win, and capable of losing the ones they are supposed to win.
