ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Stevie Johnson is willing to accept the blame a day after the Buffalo Bills receiver's hands failed to back up his big boasts.

A week after claiming the New England Patriots had no one capable of defending him, Johnson dropped the ball in a season-opening 23-21 loss Sunday.

The ever-colorful player is taking the heat after EJ Manuel's pass glanced off his hands to end a drive at midfield midway through the fourth quarter. The Patriots rallied to win on Stephen Gostkowski's 35-yard field goal with 5 seconds left.

Johnson took the loss personally, while adding he deserves blame.

There was plenty to go around for a team that squandered numerous opportunities in losing to New England for the 19th time in 20 meetings.
