SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) - Ryan Seymour was standing on the visitor's side of Candlestick Park on Sunday.
Two days later, he found himself sharing a locker room with Sunday's opponent.
The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday they signed Seymour to a three-year contract as insurance at the left guard position.
Starter Mike Iupati missed the past three games with a left knee injury and left tackle Joe Staley has been bothered by an ankle problem.
Seymour was surprised by a Monday morning telephone call from his agent, saying he was on his way back to San Francisco.
