LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) - The Chicago Bears remain optimistic Lance Briggs will play this weekend at Philadelphia.
The seven-time Pro Bowl linebacker practiced Wednesday on a limited basis as he tries to work his way back from a small fracture in his left shoulder and help the Bears lock up a playoff spot.
Coach Marc Trestman again said he's ''optimistic'' Briggs will play against the Eagles but remains day to day. He said he wasn't sure if Briggs' snaps would be limited assuming he plays against Philadelphia.
Getting Briggs back would be a big boost for a struggling defense and for a team that finds itself in control of its playoff destiny after back-to-back wins.
The Bears lead the NFC North at 8-6.
