FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) - If Rex Ryan knows what his future holds with the New York Jets, he's not letting on.
Ryan was loose and playful after the Jets' final full practice Friday, appearing anything but a coach on the hot seat. He insisted his focus is solely on trying to beat the Miami Dolphins, despite the uncertainty surrounding his job status.
Ryan has one year remaining on his contract, but it's possible general manager John Idzik could be looking to bring in a coach of his choice. Neither Idzik nor owner Woody Johnson has commented on the situation.
Ryan's players have repeatedly praised their coach all week, something Ryan says he appreciates.
He adds that the Jets' performance against the Dolphins will show whether they've improved since their last meeting four weeks ago.
