NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Titans finally ended the wait for the first running back to be taken in this year's NFL draft by selecting Bishop Sankey of Washington with the 54th pick overall.

It's the latest of any draft for the first running back to be taken, and the Titans made the move Friday night needing to replace Chris Johnson.

The Titans used the 22nd pick in the second round on Sankey who ran for 3,677 yards with 37 touchdowns averaging 5.43 yards per carry in his three seasons.

Tennessee released Johnson in April to avoid paying $8 million this season.

The Titans slid down 12 spots after swapping with Philadelphia. They also picked up the Eagles' fourth-round pick in the trade, giving them seven in this draft.
