NFL Schedule Set, Draft Days Set!

Dues going up by $10 & a new prize announced!
The NFL has announced their 2024 schedule, and we are now able to establish our draft dates for this season of fantasy football. Our first two drafts will take place on Saturday, August 24th at 12 noon, and 3pm, then our last 3 drafts will take place the next day on Sunday, August 25th at 11:00am, 2pm, and 5pm. I will be contacting everyone this summer, and I will see you all in August at the Pub for our drafts.
Dues will be rising for the first time in over a decade as prices for online services and our draft software have risen with inflation. We will be going up $10 for total dues of $150.
You will be able to start fixing your draft screw-ups on Monday morning, September 2nd when free-for-all add-drops begin at 6:00am that morning. The first NFL game will take place on Thursday, September 5th with the Ravens travelling to the KC Chiefs, and the waiver wire opens for requests on Tuesday the 10th at 6:00am. I will be contacting all league owners in July to reserve your spots in this year’s league.
In case any owner of the league has not heard the news, the owner of the Chateau Pub, James Bassett, passed away last week. Jimmy was the owner of the Pub for almost 30 years, he was our friend, our host, and an owner in our league with his team, The Juice. Please keep Jimmy’s family in your prayers. In honor of James Bassett, and to add an extra aspect to our league, we will be implementing a new award to our prizes. A new form of fantasy football has been rising called “guillotine leagues”, but we will only add an aspect of that structure to our league.

Nothing extra is required of owners for this competition. After scores are done in week one, you will see a ranking of our 50 teams based on how they scored in week 1. The bottom 4 teams will be cut, and the remaining teams will be ranked by score after the 2nd week is done. 4 more teams will be cut. Teams will be cut each week, based on the structure below until there are only two teams left in week 12. The high scoring team that week will win the $200 Jimmy Bassett Guillotine Award (a cash prize). Our league tiebreakers apply.
