Steve, get a hold of Gertie and check the leagues all time stats and I think Eli might be ready to break the leagues all time weekly score after tonight! Scoring 100+ points with 2 players is crazy! Sorry Allan. Wow.
Commissioner Thu Nov 7 4:14pm ET
Here we go, the 2nd last week of non-Division games. More importantly, we no longer have an undefeated team. Mean Machine did what no other AFFL team was able to do in 2024, Beat Eli’s Successor. That said, Eli’s has clinched a playoff spot.

We enter week 10 with significant injuries impacting just about every roster yet again. I won’t belabor the point, but the volume this year is impacting depth charts on almost every roster. There is a reason Eli’s is 8-1. Robert has not had serious injury to overcome yet. Now we must look at Mean Machine as the potential odds-on favorite to win it all.

Eli is the only team to not have 1000 points scored against this year. It should also be no surprise that the teams with the two worst records have yet to score 1000 points.

The trade Block has been updated. I have QB’s to move and am really looking for a #2/3 WR or #2 RB in return. There is no trade rape going on here and I am not over-valuing these guys. I just picked up QB’s when they looked promising. If you want a QB that will score 22-25 points for a week or two because of byes or injury or need insurance, contact me. If you want Garret Wilson, contact the Crew. If you want Christian’s shitty Brandin Cooks offer, you are a fool. I will also package a WR if I need to. I really Do Not want Johnson and Flowers together. That NFL trade kind of screwed me.

Week 9 Highs:
High Team – Dead Pheasants with 162.44 points. Eric beat me out by .08!
High QB – Dead Pheasants, Burrow with 40.14 points
High RB – Minglewood, Barkley with 33.90 points. He did it hurdling backwards.
High WR – Dead Pheasants, Smith Ngiba with 37.00 points. Two weeks in a row w/ High WR.
High TE – Tanks, Kelce 23.00 points
High K – Brown Notes, Bass with 16.0 points.
High D/ST – Mean Machine, Lions with 19.0 points. Two weeks in a row with the Lions. I think Christian may have an AFFL record. Was that five weeks in a row with a score?

My week 9 predictions were a mess. I was 1-5. The only game I had correct was Dead Pheasants.

That said, it’s time to provide week 10 predictions:

1. Air Italia takes on End Game. Not sure how End Game has 3 wins. I know why Air Italia only has 2. End Game.
2. Dark Horse, meets Eli’s Successor. I am thinking Dark Horse tacks on a 2nd loss to Eli.
3. Bones Crew will have to take on a very hot Mean Machine. If you would hear how these two go at it verbally, you might think they were brothers. Sorry Mike, Christian has a better team and the Lions just score TD’s.
4. Avengers should get a rebound against the Notes, however I am thinking Tim pulls out a 3rd win.
5. Smeds host the Blues. Smeds score more points than the Blues so take the Smeds 5-4 roster over the Blues.
6. Tanks and Dead Pheasants play the game of the week. Both teams are 5-4 and Pheasants have been scoring points. I think the Pheasants pull this one out. At least I hope so. I can’t lose ground to Tanks.
Good luck and Go Bills!

Wow, here we are; Beggars Night. Can you believe that Friday will bring the 2nd last month of 2024?

Can’t wait for this year to end, but I also don’t want to wish time away! The weather is awesome, the Bills are doing well, the news out of Houston sucks for Stef Diggs, but thank goodness that did not occur when he was a Bill. And, Eli’s Successor golden number is 1 to clinch a playoff spot by the conclusion of week 9.

Don’t believe me? How many of you just did the math? Here it is. Any combination of wins by Robert or losses by End Game/Avengers/Minglewood and Eli’s clinches. All it takes if for any two to lose. Since the Blues and End Game meet this week, Robert is going to be there in week 9 or 10.

Is anyone getting sick of Eli taking top team and all this win money? Has he had any injuries yet? Crazy!

Speaking of injuries, I never thought I would get such backlash from my peers that have all felt the injury bug this year to harshly.

That is Stefon Diggs, out for the season. Jordan Love left his game early and Greg Zeurlein on IR. Will this ever end?

Trades again? Who think Johnson’s trade to the Ravens will improve his Fantasy Stock? Does anyone want to make me an offer? I have no problem moving a WR.

More good news though, Tua was back, Daniels played and Deebo was on the field. It’s always good news when NFL stars can ply their trade.

It was National Tight End day on Sunday and boy did we get a treat!
Otton, 29.10/Pitts, 25.10/Kelce, 25.00/Kittle, 24.80/McBride, 21.40. That was great.

Week 6 Highs:
High Team – Eli’s Successor with 177.06 points. That just disgusting.
High QB –Air Italia, Hurts with 37.14 points
High RB – Dead Pheasants, Cook with 28.30 points. It was hard not rooting against him Gunnar!
High WR – Dead Pheasants, Lamb with 39.60 points. I knew it immediately! – ask my son.
High TE – Minglewood, Otton with 29.10 points
High K – Mean Machine, Seibert And Air Italia, Joseph, both with 15.0 points. Sorry guys – splitting this now. You should not walk away with nothing and double that pot for next week. That’s not fair.
High D/ST – Mean Machine, Lions with 33.0 points. Christian got this started early on Thursday night.

My week 8 predictions were off over Week 7. I was 4-2. And Dark Star was 1.40 points away from making me 5-1 again. Can you believe how close that game was? Wow.

That said, it’s time to provide week 9 predictions:

1. Air Italia, 1-7 travels to 5-3 Tanks. Not much to discuss. Tanks by 35.
2. Dark Horse, 6-2 will play the game of the week vs. Smeds, 4-4. The two teams are separated by 2 points and this one will go a
very long way in determining playoff seeding and maybe the Central division winner. Mike has had tough luck all year. Take
Dark Horse this time but is they played a 7 game series, I would flip a coin.
3. Bones Crew, 4-4 takes on the 1-7 Brown Notes. Crew by 25.
4. Avengers 3-5 visit 4-4 Pheasants. Pheasants. This may push the Avs to a playoff miss.
5. Mean Machine, 6-2 will go up against 8-0 Eli’s Successor. The Machine have been humming lately. The Machine have not
scored less than 140 points since week 4 (131.30). Eli has cored in excess of 150 five time this year. I see Eli going 9-0. It will
take 160+ points by Mena Machine to prove me wrong in this one.
6. 3-5 Blues take on 3-5 End Game. The Blues have not had consistent scoring all season. Take Sean’s team and look for a 10-13
point win.

Commissioner Thu Oct 24 1:40pm ET
Welcome to week 8 of the NFL/AFFL season. Just a bit of record keeping to start. I was reviewing my financial records and there are still two teams that have not paid their league fee. I won’t name them here but if you have not paid yet, please do so by this weekend.

It was yet another disappointing week for some and glorious week for others. And to make matters worse, the darn injury bug struck yet again. This time taking several key players out for the season and others for several weeks at one of the worst times in the year.

Lost for the season were:
DeShaun Watson (I know- none of us really care, but still. A starting QB).
Brandon Aiyuk – the start of the season was rough and now he is lost for the year!
Chris Godwin – lost for the season
Aiden O’Connell – I know, another one we care little about – but a QB on IR
Andy Dalton – Out this week and maybe a couple more
Mike Evans – out several weeks
Jayden Daniels – What’s up and for how long?
Deebo Samuel- Pneumonia – that’s not something you recover from in 2 weeks!
Smith-Schuster – Out.
This is nuts guy. Whether you have these players or not, it impacts you. Sean, how does it feel to lose the top targets for the best QB in the AFFL in 2024?

I know I lost Evans and Daniels in one game but some of these injuries are insurmountable and have had indirect impact to many others. Very frustrating and that’s why we need to make trades. The waiver wire does not have a replacement for Daniels/Samuel/Godwin, etc.

Enough crying. Still thinking about the draft and some of picks we made. What’s going on with Patrick Mahomes? On the opposite end, who thought Derrick Henry would be that good? Or, Lamar Jackson? Most consistent positions on our rosters this year may be the Kickers and Defense/ST’s?

Six teams scored more than 120 points this past week and 5 scored less than a hundred. Some advice for you all, don’t cut the grass on Sunday morning before you look at who will be active and who is benched. It would have made no difference in my game, but Goedert was out and I had no idea. That was two weeks in a row where three platers combined for less than 6 TOTAL points. I can’t believe I am only two games better than Air Italia.

It was nice to see Amari Cooper have an immediate impact. Will Hopkins have a similar bump in productivity this week for KC? I hope he tears his groin is 10 places and rips his Achilles to shreds.

On a lighter note, everyone with a Dolphins offensive player might be smiling again, now that Tua is back. Then again, we may all be sicked if he ends up on the turf posturing like a wounded animal – again.

I think Kenneth Walker will score a lot this week against the Bills.

In the worst head to head game of the season, we will see Air Italia face Brown Notes. Mark, Tua is healthy and you will not have Curtis Samuel this week – not that he has done a darn thing. Tim, better set a full lineup. You need to go on a seven game win streak!

Week 6 Highs:
High Team – Dark Horse with 157.70 points
High QB – Eli’s Successor, Jacksom with 45.44 points
High RB – Dark Horse, Gibbs with 32.00 points
High WR – Bones Crew, St. Brown, with 25.20 points.
High TE – Dead Pheasants, Andrews with 20.10 points
High K – Mean Machine, Seibert with 19.0 points
High D/ST – Dead Pheasants, Commanders with 33.0 points

My week 7 predictions were a drastic improvement over Week 6. I was 5-1 with only Tanks keeping me from a perfect 6-0! That said, it’s time to provide week 8 predictions:

• If Air Italia and Brown Notes were actually televised on Sunday Night football and the other options were 24 hours of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood on EVERY other channel, I think you would all pick Mr. Rogers to watch. The real question here is, will Italia score more than 70 points? Take the Notes for a first win and give Air Italia a leg up in the toilet bowl head to head!
• I am taking Dark Horse over Tanks. This is interesting though. Dan has Mahomes throwing to Hopkins now and Waddle gets Tua back. Stefon Diggs is not that good though and I like Alan’s backs.
• Bones Crew will try and do what seven other teams have not yet done, beat Eli. Crew is impacted by loss of Jayden Daniels and I don’t think Kupp is ready yet. Kittle will be the difference here. Robert stays undefeated – barely.
• Did Smeds need any more firepower. Yep, Mike benefits from the Hopkins trade. But he needs it because his WR room is suspect. Avs and Smeds have one of the longest AFFL rivalries and this is going to be pretty tight. Smeds by 6.
• Mean Machine enters the game vs/ End Game as the most questionable 5-2 team in the league. That said, Adams may be able to score big this week and as I already said, Walker will put up numbers on the Bills weak run defense. Both managers employ a 3 RB attack. Sean has AJ Brown though. Tak Sean in a mild upset 125-117
• Finally in a matchup of two 3-4 teams, the Blues travel to the Dead Pheasants. Pheasants and Blues each have WR’s that are hurt. Ridley may not play and Deebo is in the hospital. Blues have Evans out, Dionte Johns hurt, Goedert hurt and Daniels hurt. No better time for Eric to spank the Blues for a 3rd straight loss. Pheasants 129, Blues 103.
Commissioner Thu Oct 17 1:25pm ET
Happy Thursday and welcome to week 7. That’s right, we are now about to enter the midpoint of the AFFL season. Taking a look back at things there are some major surprises regarding who is performing as expected (deserve the draft position they were taken at) and what the major 2024 disappointments are this season.

I don’t think any of us saw Eli’s Successor being 6-0 after six weeks of the season. I also don’t think we would have predicted Brown Notes at 0-6. Tim’s team has really been hit with injury – whether direct or indirect. However, Tim should benefit from the Cooper trade. The question is, how long will it take for Amari to connect with Josh Allen and can the Notes cash in quickly enough to provide a much need playoff push.

Brown Notes will need to go at least 6-2 to be in the playoff conversation but that will also require a 3-0 division run in weeks 12 through 14.

Dark Horse finally lost, but is took a major effort by Dead Pheasants to earn the win. Didn’t help that DH didn’t really score. Speaking of poor performances, Brown Notes, Blues and Air Italia crapped the bed as well. Not scoring 100 points is simply ridiculous. And how does Air Italia not even score 60? I haven’t looked but that must be one of the worst performances in the last decade. I know the Blues issue was no scoring from three players – a total of 5.40 points from Goedert, Evans and Etienne.

What’s really nice to see is End Game looking for a trade involving Josh Allen and now Bones Crew posting a need for a RB. If I had a RB, I would make a deal. My trade involving Conner severely impacted my RB point output for the remainder of the year. Looking at all rosters, I know there are a couple teams that have a surplus at certain positions. The trades of Cooper and Adams should have significant impact to Rodgers/Allen/Wilson production potential. There may be impact to the Jets RB room and opportunity for other Bills WR’s if Cooper can get up to speed sooner rather than later.

Bad news for the rest of the league, Eli may be getting Brooks and Hockenson into his lineup in the next three weeks. Just in time for a playoff push for a team that is already 6-0 and close to clinching a playoff berth before week 8. Also getting healthy is Cooper Kupp. This is great news for Bones Crew and Minglewood. A healthy Kupp makes Stafford a better QB and makes that Crew WRF Room unbelievable.

All that said, don’t forget to set your lineups (Tanks!). We have a Thursday game and early Sunday game. Trades are where the players are at now. There is very little to grab offer waivers. Bones Crew is offering up Wilson, End Game is offering up Allen, I have a WR and QB to move. I assume Robert will need to make a move or two if his IR players can come back. In other words, make offers. You never really know what people will do and even though an initial offer may seem impossible, there is always room for negotiation.

Week 6 Highs:
High Team – Bones Crew, 182.22 points
High QB – Bones Crew, Love with 34.62 points
High RB – Smeds, Mixon with 27.20 points
High WR – Mean Machine, Godwin with 38.50 points.
High TE – Bones Crew, Kmet with 24.00 points
High K – Smeds, Boswell with 20.0 points
High D/ST – Avengers, Browns with 17.0 points

My week 6 predictions stunk. I was 2-4; only predicting Eli’s and End Game outcomes correctly. The up and down performances and injuries have really made this a tough season to predict. However, take Eli/Tanks/Dark Horse every week and it’s a good bet you go 3-0! That said, it’s time to provide week 7 predictions:

• I think Dead Pheasants will push Air Italia to 0-7. Is anyone upset that Mark is so bad? It’s kind of like watching the Patriots fall apart post-Tom Brady. Sorry Mark, but this is fun!
• End Game is in a battle against Dark Horse this week. Go with Dark Horse. Sean needs WR’s badly. Sean – I have one. We can make a package deal. I promise to NOT trade rape you.
• It has been an up and down year for both Cones Crew and the Blues. I always say that when you run up a score, you will need some of those points the next week. However, I am picking the Crew this week.
• Mean Machine is starting to come on strong. Avengers were lucky in week 6 when the Blues had injuries. However, you do need luck to be good. But this is a loss for Avengers.
• Sorry Tim, you are facing the best team in the league and will drop to 0-7. I really see no way that Eli drops this one.
• Smeds/Tanks is the game of the week. Mike has RB’s and Dan has WR’s. Mahomes vs. Cousins. This is really interesting. Mike has been lamenting his ability to put up prolific points is not resulting in wins. Dan is just plain quietly leading the South division at 4-2. I think Dan continues his winning ways and Mike will be scratching his head once again. This will be a high scoring affair.

Week 5 Update

Good afternoon gents. You week five summary is here along with High Positions, predictions, transaction news and general ball-busting.

Now that Fall - and Fall weather has finally arrived, it is starting to feel much more like the autumnal season. After this Monday, we will be back to Sunday afternoon Bills games. I used to like having the Bills on Monday/Sunday but I am thinking I don't like it that much. It's great for the marriage as I have "free weekends". But, that does not stop me from looking at my phone for scoring updates.

With five weeks in the books, it's clear that Eli's Successor and Dark Horse are the class of the league. Both teams are 5-0 and seem to be unstoppable. Yes, I know Mike Smith, Smeds are scoring like a 25 year old at the Senior Prom! But Mike, you are only 2-3 and unbelievably 0-3 in the division. How do you lose to Dead Pheasants? But I digress... At 5-0, Eli's and the Horse have almost clinched playoff spots. I know, it's early but they only need to beat out 4 teams and they have four game+ leads on three teams and they have 3.5 game leads in their divisions. While you can't win the title in the first five games of the season, a fast start like this in a 14 game regular season is almost a lock for the playoffs.

The waiver wire and add/drop line was extremely busy for a couple teams. Some because of our first set of byes (like my team) and some because teams are looking for a jump start. Remember, there is still a trade option for anyone looking to make moves.

Speaking of trades, did anyone see that deal between the Blues and Eli coming? Much like Sean, Robert was going to be in Bye week trouble and he decided to act early and decisively by moving Jayden Daniels.

So, with that in mind, here are the Week 5 Highs:

High Team - Eli's Successor with 172.72 points
High QB - Pheasants, Burrow with 47.78 points
High RB - Pheasants, Swift with 20.00 points
High WR - Eli, Chase with 44.30 points
High TE - End Game, Kraft, with 27.80 points
High K - Dark Horse, Koo with 21.0 points
High D/ST - Dark Horse, Broncos with 34.0 points

Of Note, Kraft and the Broncos were both waiver claims. Smeds scarfed up Tolbert and received production there as well.

I was 5-1 in my weekly prediction for Week 5. I believe we had our closest game of the year between the Avengers and End Game. That was a 1.64 difference in the score. Also, Brown Notes dropped to 0-5 despite racking up 143.90 points; enough to beat 6 other teams. Tim it's not your year. I always like it when there are two very high scoring teams that go at it. The Mean Machine/Pheasants game was a doozy!

Week 6 Picks:
Eli should be 6-0. I don't see Air Italia being able to keep up with Robert's high scoring offense.
Dark Horse should also be 6-0 after this week. Pheasants are in a similar place as Air Italia.
Tanks is a massive favorite against Bones Crew. The Crew are suffering with no WR production and no RB's. Tanks should skate here.
Blues were the early favorite before the Daniels trade. With Barkley, Goedert, Smith back, this should be even more of a margin for the Blues. Take the Blues and the points.
Mean Machine is hoping for Adams to get traded yesterday. Until then, he is just another WR on a roster. Smeds scores a lot so go with Mike but I think this could be a real fun game.
If the Notes can produce like they did in week five, this could be close. Half of Tim's roster is on bye or hurt. Take End Game in a rebound after week five's loss.

Commissioner Wed Oct 2 2:20pm ET
Alright, that's four weeks in. Hard to believe September is gone and we are into the 2nd month of the season. Only Brown Notes are winless. And, we still have three undefeated teams. That's a big surprise. Finally, we can ignore the whiney Smeds and the whimpering about scoring points and losing. Mike blew that out of the water in a big way and is not #2 in overall scoring; now only 17.98 behind Eli's Successor.

Two remaining questions for the league. Will Robert lose? and Will Tim win? More importantly, how is Air Italia better than Brown Notes?

I can't believe Mean Machine put up 131 this week. Avengers are still smarting after that 6 point loss to Eli. And speaking of sore bums, Tim, I think Smeds tore you a new asshole this past week. I believe Smeds will need some of those points this week to win. But that always seems to happen when there is such a points disparity.

Who is the surprise team of the season? Did anyone see Tanks being 4-0? Will Patrick Mahomes score 25 points this year? Is that Sam Darnold, or did the Chiefs trade Mahomes and they are hiding it well?

Week 4 Highs - This is the Mike Smith show this week:

High Team - Smeds with 155.62 points
High QB - Bones Crew - Goff with 34.38 points
High RB - Smeds - Henry with 38.90 points
High WR - Smeds - Collins with 33.10 points
High TE - Tanks - Kelce with 15.90 points
High K - Dark Horse - Koo with 20.00 points
High D/ST - Smeds - 49ers with 30.00 points

Mike took $8 of the $14 dollars this week. Come on Man, spread the wealth.

Blast from the past time, I saw Mark Vohwinkle (Maulers) at the Pendleton Grille. He was tending bar. Mark was one of the original league members is famous for drafting Randall Cunningham at Williamsville North High when we were a 14 team league. Took Randall Cunningham with the #1 pick overall. Cunningham went down with a broken leg in game one. When you have 14 teams, you don't replace a QB that went #1 overall. Scoring was different then and QB's thar scored with their feet were GOLD!

Week 5 Predictions:
Blues have half a roster on byes thanks to the Eagles being off. Still think Minglewood wins this one. IT will be close.
Dark Horse will take sloppy seconds on Brown Notes. Tim, get some numbing cream. This will not feel good!
Bones Crew, stop laughing. You now face Smeds. Ask Tim for the cream.
End Game will squeeze past Avengers. Gotta love Father Son games.
Mean Machine should prevail over Pheasants.
We will have two undefeated teams after this week. Tanks will lose to Eli.

Don't forget we have Thursday and Sunday Morning games. Vikes/Jets Sunday.

My time here - I need a QB. Anyone interested, let me know,

Commissioner Wed Sep 25 5:07pm ET
Week Three Summary

Well, week 3 is in the books and we are done with the first round of divisional meetings. We now start the inter-league portion of the season where these games mean even more since they are not only head to head meetings but will determine final standings.

We have three undefeated teams still, with Eli’s Successor, Tanks & Dark Horse all sitting at 3-0 and important leads in the head to head division tie-breakers. Brown Notes and Smeds are 4 games back in their respective divisions. That is tough. However, it will take 6 plus wins to qualify for the eighth playoff berth and there is a ton of football remaining.

So, what I always like to look at each week is how many points for and against each team has. In my eyes, this is the luck argument in full swing. How is it, that the teams with the best records always have the fewest points against? I mean, Tanks has had 264.76 points scored against him. And Smeds has had 500.18 scored against. I realize this is only three games, but it is pretty weird and proof that the draft may be some skill but weekly games are all luck.

Speaking of which, that darn injury bug has hit again. While direct injuries are always tough, the adjacent injuries are also piling up. Nacua/Kupp are impacting the LA running game and passing attack. Austin Eckler is out for week 4. Not that anyone cares but Adam Thielen is on IR now. Justin Herbert left his game earl reaggravating his ankle. Devonta Smith left the game with a concussion. Sam Laporta left with an injured ankle. CeeDee Lamb also left his game with an injury. This sucks!

Nice to see a trade outside the draft that did not involve my team. Good job there guys. I am looking for a QB. Anyone interested in sending me a WR not impacted by QB injury?

Weekly Highs:
High Team – Eli’s Successor, 155.88 points
High QB – End Game, Allen with 38.92 points
High RB – Blues, Barkley, with 36.60 points
High WR – Smeds, Jennings with 46.50. Nice waiver claim!
High TE – Blues, Goedert with 27.0 points
High K – Avengers, Aubrey with 13.0 points
High D/ST – Air Italia, N.Y. Jets (Suck, suck, suck) with 24.0 points

Disappointing games:
Team – Bones Crew – the point production from Harris/White/Wilson/Kupp totaled 29.6. (Sam Darnold on Air Italia had 1.62 fewer than all 4 combined)
QB – Stafford’s 7.64 points (Blues)
RB – R. White – 3.3 points (Bones Crew)
WR – Hill – 6.6 points (Air Italia) There were quite a few others but Hill was a #1 draft pick.

Weekly efficiency chart shows Eli at 92.8 as the most efficient use of starters in week 3. Air Italia left almost 30% of his available points on the bench.

Most disappointing starters in week three:
All of Mean Machine. This 65.60 points are embarrassing. On the other hand, these guys sucked too:
Davis - 3.8
Likely - 1.4
Shaeed – 0
Waddle – 6.6
Kelce – 7.0
Connor – 3.5
Flowers – 5.3
McBride – 5.5
Stevenson – 1.3
Ridley – 1.9
Andrews – 0
Fairbairn – 1.0
The last four are all on Pheasants! Nice trade😊!

Weekly picks:
Mean Machine should recover and beat Air Italia. Mark is still playing with house money for the next 8 years!
Look for Dark Horse to win a close one over the Blues.
Dead Pheasants should handle the Crew. Neither team may break 90 points!
Eli’s Successor will bounce Avengers to remain undefeated.
Smeds will finally win because the Notes can’t score.
End Game has a better team than Tanks. Dan’s 3-0 record is a fluke. Now it will show.
Smeds Tue Sep 24 11:00am ET
My team on the other hand. Lost # 1 overall draw pick to IR , averaged over 130+ points a week and still have lost the last 3 weeks! No luck what so ever but that Fanasty football!
Dead Pheasants Sun Sep 22 9:05pm ET
What’s the record for lowest scoring week? I’m might break it! Lol
Commissioner Thu Sep 19 2:28pm ET
Alright, week 2 in the books. Look at those standings. Three teams at 2-0, six teams at 1-1 and three teams at 0-2. We will wrap up round one f the divisional games this week. Coming out 0-3 will make the playoffs very difficult indeed.

The Blues laid the biggest turd of the season going from Top points to third fewest in one week. Despite a narrow victory in week two over Bones Crew, Air Italia’s offense still can’t get out of the hangar. Mark’s team hung a great big L on Big Cat Moeller despite scoring the second lowest points of the week. Parisi was lucky to play the Crew, who just could not score. Mike’s team was efficient, his bench failed to do anything either as his starters scored 94.1% of available points.

While looking at efficiency, the Blues were the least efficient team in wee at a miniscule 79.9%.

The weekly scoring average was up from Week one by 3.87 points. Bench points were also up in week two by 4.08 points. Maybe the NFL offenses are starting to wake a bit. Not playing starters in the pre-season may be impacting our scoring.

The injury bug hit yet again. Tua may be done for good, Kupp is hurt, Jefferson left his game early, AJ Brown was out and the list goes on. Congrats to all the week one losers that were able to grab players off waivers. While many of us have not been directly impacted by injury, the residual impact has become just as significant. If you own Waddle and Hill, I feel your pain. Stafford has been rendered unmentionable with Nacua and Kupp out. Will Mahomes feel the loss of Pacheco? Is Purdy going to be effective with McCaffrey and Samuel nicked up? Let’s not even mention the Cleveland offense as long as they have no QB. The same could be said in Carolina and Tennessee! Many good players withering on the vine and lesser players are becoming relevant simply due to the situation they are in.

Don’t forget to set your rosters for the Jets/Pats game.

The Power Rankings think Eli’s Successor is the best team. Funny, where is Bones Crew? Yep, #12. Mike what did the draft recap say about your team? It may be the kiss of death.

The waiver wire is becoming very thin, so keep those trades avenues open and working.

QB – Stafford’s 7.64 points (Blues)
RB – R. White – 3.3 points (Bones Crew)
WR – Hill – 6.6 points (Air Italia) There were quite a few others but Hill was a #1 draft pick.

So, that’s week one already. Just think, in thirteen weeks we will be starting the AFFL playoff tournament!

I know, it seems like a ways off, but heck, it’s the 2nd week of September already. Seems like just yesterday I purchased my Fantasy Index magazine and was trying to figure out draft strategy. And look, it’s already week one, everyone is scrambling to make claims on players like Alexander Mattison, Derek Carr and Rashid Shaheed (sorry for those of you who were hoping to sneak a claim in!).

As is typical in this league, we have all been doing this for quite a while. There aren’t too many hidden gems out there and there are always good trade opportunities if you are willing to make the plunge in the trade market.

Once again, the injury bug has bitten way too early. Two teams took major blows after week one play and another took a blow before the Monday Night game. Bones Crew looks to have lost Jordan Love foe several weeks, Mean Machine lost Nacua for at least 7 games and Smeds went into the Monday game have lost the consensus best player due to a calf injury. All three players figured into the long term success of their respective teams and their losses will be painful. It looks like Smeds will feel the loss of CMC the most since Mike doesn’t really have an immediate fill in. Maybe Tanks will trade with you?

On the surprising side of things, it is amazing the Bears scored 45 points. Chicago is the sole reason Sean pulled off a win. Speaking of surprises, who would have thought that Baker Mayfield would have scored 37.66 points? And did anyone see 26.10 coming from Isaiah Likely?

Based on week 1 results, it would be easy to assume there are have’s and have not’s. I disagree. It’s extremely possible that the entire league could be 1-1 after week 2. On thing is certain, Deshaun Watson stinks, Stefon Diggs can still play football, we will see better play from Lamar & Patrick and Mark Andrews is not the #2 to Likely. So, don’t panic and if you think you have opportunity to improve your roster, start a conversation with a fellow owner that may be willing to engage you in a trade.

All that said, it’s time to recognize the best of week one and pile on the losers!

Weekly Highs:
High Team – Blues, 178.48 points
High QB – Smeds, Richardson with 37.08 points
High RB – Blues, Barkley with 33.20 points
High WR – Blues, Reed with 36.10 points
High TE – Brown Notes, Bowers with 11.80 points (Likely was not active)
High K – Blues, Moody with 29.0 points
High D/ST – End Game, Bears with 45.0 points

Disappointing games:
Team – Brown Notes
QB – Joe Burrow – 8.06 points (BNO)
RB – C. McCaffrey – 0 points (Smeds)
WR – London - 3.5 points (Avs) / St, Brown – 4.30 points (BC) / Harrison 1.4 points (BNO) / Olave – 3.1 points (EG)
TE – Engram - 1.5 points (EG)
K – Who cares?
D/ST – See Kicker!

Brown Notes had the lowest point percentage scoring 72.5% of total available points in week 1. Conversely, the Blues scored 96.5% of total possible points. You may want to watch this stat. If you find yourself making bad decisions or leaving good points on the bench, you may want to consider a trade to eliminate these types of decisions.

Weekly predictions:
1. Bones Crew is the early favorite over Air Italia. I see the Crew dropping an early divisional contest.
2. Dark Horse and Avengers is a virtual pick ‘em game. I think Avs make a roster change and put Prescott in this week and that’s the difference.
3. Brown Notes should prevail over Mean Machine, but this one is really close.
4. Tanks will grab the upset. There’s no way that the Blues can score that many points two weeks in a row.
5. Smeds/Pheasants are a toss up. This really comes down to whether McCaffrey plays. I say the Pheasants win this one.
6. End Game and Eli have several players that underachieved in week 1. Olave/Engram were no shows with Kamara. If they score, this could be a win for Sean. Achane may be banged up for Eli. Robert needs a game from Chase/Dell/Williams. Take End Game.
