The New Orleans Saints restructured tight end Taysom Hill's contract on Thursday, converting his base salary for 2024 to free up some salary cap room. Hill's cap number went from $15.7 million to $6.8 million with the move. The 33-year-old continues to be listed as a tight end for fantasy purposes, but he's apparently being involved more as a running back/fullback in new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's scheme during offseason workouts. Juwan Johnson's foot injury will also open up more pass-catching opportunities for Hill in training camp this summer as a traditional tight end. Most of Hill's production in 2023 came as a quarterback in wild-cat formations for the Saints. His versatile skill set makes him intriguing as a TE2 in fantasy, but it has been nearly impossible to predict how the Saints will use him on a weekly basis.

New Orleans Saints hybrid offensive player Taysom Hill was seen taking direct snaps out of the backfield at organized team activities on Tuesday while also working with the special teams unit. SI.com's John Hendrix wrote that seeing Hill in the backfield is starting to be a pretty exciting thing. He lined up as the running back in shotgun formation and took the run left for a nice gain. In addition to taking direct snaps out of the backfield, Hill also caught some passes from quarterback Derek Carr as a pass-catcher. It remains to be seen exactly how Hill will be used in new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's system, but he could be on the field often in a variety of roles. With tight end eligibility in fantasy, he will at least have value as a low-end TE1 with the possibility for more if he's more active as a ball-carrier out of the backfield in 2024.

New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill's unique skill set has been on full display during organized team activities, according to Matthew Paras of NOLA.com. For example, Hill took part in individual drills with the running backs last week and is working with the tight ends this week. 'It's been a lot of fun. It's weird to say after seven years of doing what I've been doing that I'm being asked to do things I've never done before. That is exciting to me and it's challenging, and I love to be challenged like that. I'm grateful for those guys creating unique and fun opportunities for me,' Hill said.

Fantasy Spin: According to Paras, Hill has yet to throw a ball once in a live setting this spring, but he has lined up at running back and fullback several times. Furthermore, head coach Dennis Allen apparently "entertained" a reporter's suggestion that Hill might be the Saints' version of Kyle Juszczyk in new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak's offense. While it is unlikely Hill will top last year's career year (114 touches for 692 yards), fantasy managers should expect him to remain a key complementary part of the offense again in 2024.

New Orleans Saints utility player Taysom Hill could have a significant role in 2024 under new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, according to Saints reporter Jeff Duncan. The veteran has acted as a quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, return man, and special teams ace in his seven-year career with New Orleans. Overall, he has posted 2,348 passing yards, 2,159 rushing yards, 756 receiving yards, 447 return yards, and 49 total touchdowns. Due to his tight end eligibility in lineups, he remains on the fantasy football radar, especially after this report. Hill has posted top-10 half-PPR finishes among tight ends in each of the last two seasons, and he could be primed to do it again in 2024.

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill saw work both on the ground and through the air with Alvin Kamara (ankle) missing Week 18's win. Hill carried the ball six times for 51 yards, ripping off a game-long 27-yarder. He also caught all four targets for 28 yards. The versatile playmaker lined up all over the field, helping the Saints pick apart the Atlanta defense for 48 points. New Orleans will now await the result of both the Green Bay and Seattle games as he Saints hold onto hopes of sneaking into the playoffs.

New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill saw a slightly increased role in Week 17 as he continued to work his way back from injury, scoring his second receiving touchdown of the season. With Alvin Kamara (ankle) not practicing all week and Juwan Johnson (chest) also banged up, the opportunity for Hill to get involved both on the ground and through the air should arise. The Atlanta Falcons surrender 20.3 points per game to opponents, ranking ninth-best in the league. Hill offers upside due to potential increased usage, but the statuses of Kamara and Johnson should be monitored before plugging him into lineups.

New Orleans Saints gadget player Taysom Hill carved out a role in the Week 17 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, finding the endzone for the sixth time this season. Hill completed 1-of-2 passes for 11 yards, carried the ball twice for one yard, and caught both targets for 30 yards and a touchdown. While it was not his most productive day yardage-wise, Hill salvaged his fantasy day with a touchdown. He will be a low-floor, high-ceiling play in Week 18 against the Atlanta Falcons.

New Orleans Saints TE Taysom Hill completed one of his two passes for 11 yards, ran for one yard on two carries and caught both of his targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dec 29 12:30pm ET

New Orleans Saints gadget player Taysom Hill has seen a limited role since returning from injury. Hill played 19% of snaps in Week 15 and 17% of snaps in Week 16, totaling just four touches. In a must-win Week 17 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, it remains unclear just how involved Hill will be in New Orleans' gameplan. The Swiss army knife has been a fantasy goldmine at times, but the unpredictable nature of his boom games makes him far too risky of an option to insert into lineups during championship week. Look elsewhere for a tight end in championship week.

Dec 20 4:20pm ET

New Orleans Saints offensive weapon Taysom Hill was quiet in his return to action last week, but hopes to have more of an impact as the Saints gear up to take on the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night in a game with significant playoff implications. Hill's usage is tough to project on a week-to-week basis, but now that he is off the injury report he will likely see more than the 19% of snaps he saw a week ago. Hill is a high-end TE2 this week with a high ceiling and a low floor. The Rams have surrendered 25.3 points per game in their last three games, meaning there will be opportunities for the Swiss army knife to find the end zone.

Dec 18 1:10pm ET

New Orleans Saints tight end/quarterback Taysom Hill (foot, hand) returned from a one-game absence in Week 15's contest against the New York Giants but had a very limited role in the easy 24-6 victory on Sunday. Hill played just 19 percent of the offensive snaps, his fewest since Week 1, carrying the ball only once for one yard and catching his only target for a four-yard gain. The 33-year-old was eased back into the fold in a game in which the Saints didn't really need to do much on offense to come out on top. The 33-year-old should be more involved moving forward and has been a key contributor on the ground for New Orleans in 2023, but this is another reminder that the Swiss Army Knife is prone to letdowns in his hybrid role.
