2024 RTSports Outlook

The Chiefs picked Rice in the second round of this year's draft. He gives the Chefs some more depth at the receiver spot and could move up the depth chart if he performs well in camp and preseason action. Rice has good size and speed for the position. He can get to the next level in a hurry and uses his athleticism well. He lacks consistency, though, and will drop passes he should catch.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Rice is going to be hit or miss his rookie season in this offense. He might have some big games but will disappear in others. He could get 40 receptions for 600 yards and a few scores.

Dynasty | The Kansas City Chiefs moved up in the 2024 NFL Draft to select Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Dynasty Analysis: Worthy may have hit the fantasy lottery. A true playmaker with major league speed to burn, he will likely be asked to perform quickly with a possible suspension coming for Rashee Rice. Still, Worthy is a candidate to be overdrafted a touch as the Chiefs are no longer forced to throw as much as they used to with a much better defense now being featured. Worthy looks locked in as a pick in the top half of round one but expectations need to be realistic.

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is expected to be disciplined by the NFL, resulting in at least a multi-game suspension. Rice is currently facing eight charges after he and another driver of a speeding car allegedly caused a crash involving a half-dozen vehicles in Dallas last month. He turned himself into police last week before being released on bond. The looming suspension for Rice could push the Chiefs, who own the No. 32 pick in this week's NFL draft, to keep a close eye on receivers in the draft. KC would have been expected to look for receiver help even before Rice's off-field troubles. They had the most drops in the league (38) in 2023. Rice was quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite target outside of tight end Travis Kelce last year, but his fantasy stock is going to take a hit going into 2024 with a suspension looming.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters that he's spoken to wide receiver Rashee Rice, who will be virtual for the first phase of offseason conditioning. "I'm leaving that, like we've done most of these, for the law enforcement part to take place and then we will go from there with that," Reid said. Rice turned himself into authorities after an arrest warrant was issued stemming from a March 30 multi-car accident in which he was driving one of the cars. The 23-year-old is facing eight charges as a result of the incident that caused bodily injuries to some of the people involved. The legal process needs to play out first, but Rice's fantasy value going into the 2024 season could be hurt by the fact that the NFL could hand him a suspension to start the season. Rice was quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite weapon outside of tight end Travis Kelce in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has turned himself into the police following an arrest warrant being issued for his involvement in a multiple vehicle crash. Rice faces up to eight felony charges related to a collision in a street race. The young wideout owned both cars in the crash and was seen leaving the scene following the incident. There has been a $40,000 bond posted and more discipline is likely to come. There is a chance that Rice will be suspended by the Chiefs or the NFL, so missing some regular season action seems likely at this point. There should be more information on this situation as the summer rolls on.

Dynasty | A warrant has been issued for Rashee Rice in Dallas. Dynasty Analysis: Rice is going up against eight charges, including aggravated assault stemming from the auto racing incident last week. This is clearly no surprise, especially after video was released showing the incident. Rice is fortunate nobody was severely injured (or worse) but could still face a suspension moving forward once the story unfolds. There really isn't any change to his dynasty value at this point, other than the fact nobody is going to want to trade for him at the moment. As such, Rice is simply a "hold" until this matter shakes out.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection with his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash in Dallas in late March. The 23-year-old is facing eight charges in the case -- six counts of collision involving bodily injury, one count of collision involving serious bodily injury, and one count of aggravated assault, according to the arrest warrant. All of the charges are felonies. Rice already acknowledged he was driving the Lamborghini SUV involved in the crash after renting the vehicle. It's good that he's cooperating with the authorities, but the NFL is closely monitoring the proceedings and will surely investigate the matter themselves after the legal situation plays out. There's a good chance Rice could be subject to a suspension by the league in 2024, which puts a cloud over his 2024 fantasy value after a strong rookie season in 2023.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is expected to have charges filed against him for his role in a multi-vehicle crash that occurred on Saturday in Dallas. The 23-year-old met with police on Wednesday, and according to sources, he admitted to driving the Lamborghini involved in the chain reaction collision. Police say they will file charges once they have collected evidence proving the extent of all the victims' injuries. The legal process will play out over the coming weeks or months, and this is certainly a situation to monitor.

Thanks to dashcam video of the incident involving Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice and a car accident on Saturday in which a Lamborghini was racing a Corvette, there is more evidence of the incident. After the accident, the video shows one man emerging from the back seat of the Lamborghini on the passenger side and two men emerging from the front seat on the passenger side. Based on photos posted by TMZ.com on Monday, including the image of Rice with family members before the incident, it looks like Rice is the second person out of the front seat on the passenger side, which would suggest he was the driver. An NFL spokesman said on Tuesday that the league is monitoring the situation, but if Rice was indeed driving, he could be facing severe charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries, and it could even lead to a suspension from the NFL in 2024.

It was reported by the Dallas Morning News on Saturday that police were looking for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice following a major accident on Saturday in Dallas, Texas. A car involved in the accident was believed to be registered to or leased to Rice, and the occupants of two cars ran from the scene. On Monday, Rice's attorney Royce West released a statement saying "Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly." As of now, there is still uncertainty about what happened and what Rice's involvement was in the situation, so it's too early to know if the 23-year-old will face discipline from the law and the NFL. This will be an ongoing development to monitor.

Dynasty | Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is wanted by police in connection with a traffic accident. Dynasty Analysis: The Chiefs will undoubtedly spend Easter Sunday gathering details but this clearly isn't good. Rice was reportedly involved in a street race that resulted in a six-car pileup. Details are still emerging, including a list of possible injuries. What is known is that a car either owned or leased by Rice was involved and he's wanted by police for questioning. Stay tuned.

Police are searching for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in their investigation of a major accident on Saturday in Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News. The Dallas Morning News reported that a vehicle believed to be registered to or leased to Rice was involved in a crash in northeast Dallas at around 6:20 pm local time on Saturday. A police spokeswoman said a driver in a Chevrolet Corvette and a driver in a Lamborghini were speeding and both lost control of their vehicles, with the Lamborghini hitting the median wall and causing "a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles." The occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette ran from the crash site. It's unclear if Rice is facing charges, and his level of involvement in the accident is also unclear, but we'll continue to monitor the developing situation.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice continued his recent muted postseason run with six catches (eight targets) for 39 yards, but his team was still able to bring home their third Super Bowl ring in the last four seasons in Sunday's 25-22 triumph over the San Francisco 49ers. After an electric performance during Super Wild Card Weekend, the 2023 second-rounder failed to reach the 50-yard marker in any of his past three playoff games. It ends a very promising rookie campaign with a bit of a whimper, but Rice cemented himself as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' No. 1 wideout this year. The Chiefs' offseason moves may have something to say regarding Rice's 2024 fantasy draft outlook, however, as it's abundantly clear they need to add a more credible downfield threat into the picture despite Mecole Hardman Jr.'s Super Bowl LVIII heroics. For now, Rice belongs in top-12 conversations at the WR position in way-too-early-rankings.

Feb 9 7:10pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice (ankles) returned to a full practice on Friday and has been removed from the final injury report. Rice will be ready to play in the Super Bowl on Sunday versus the San Francisco 49ers after he was limited in practice on Thursday. The 23-year-old should continue to serve as one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes' favorite aerial targets outside of tight end Travis Kelce against San Francisco. Rice started off his rookie season slow, but he's been the Chiefs' unquestioned top receiver since the midway points of the regular season. In three postseason games leading up to the Super Bowl, Rice has been busy, catching 20 of his 25 targets for 223 yards and one touchdown.

Feb 9 12:30am ET

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice (ankles) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice after he was a full-go the day earlier on Wednesday. It's unclear if Rice tweaked his previous ankle injury, but it's something to keep an eye on heading into Friday and Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. The 23-year-old has easily been KC's No. 1 receiver for the vast majority of the 2023 campaign, so anything that could slow him down this weekend could have drastic consequences for the Chiefs' offense. We're still pretty confident that Rice should be just fine to play against San Fran. He's been held under 50 receiving yards in each of the last two playoff games, but in his first three career playoff games in total, he has a solid 20 catches on 25 targets for 223 yards and one touchdown.

Jan 28 11:10pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice helped keep the team on schedule as they topped the Baltimore Ravens 17-10 on the road in Sunday's AFC Championship tilt, gathering eight of his nine targets for 46 yards. Rice collected six of his seven passes for 41 yards in the first half, but he missed out on a much bigger day after witnessing a 33-yard catch-and-run touchdown wiped out by a holding penalty as the second quarter wound down. The 23-year-old rookie's lone failed hookup was a deep pass, an area of his game he will likely be working to improve on this offseason. Playing with a lead and stymieing Lamar Jackson all day, K.C.'s offense didn't need to do much in the second half. After tallying 47 yards in the Divisional Round, Rice will be looking for more room to roam when he gets his first taste of Super Bowl action and the Chiefs hunt for the Lombardi Trophy against the San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium in two weeks time.

Jan 26 11:30pm ET

After six weeks in a row of scoring double-digit PPR fantasy points, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice cooled down in the Divisional Round triumph over the Buffalo Bills for his fewest targets and catches (four) as well as yards (47) since Week 7. Despite being primarily covered by backup cornerback Dane Jackson against Buffalo's injury-ravaged defense, Rice was unable to overcome a low-volume game out of K.C.'s offense in total plays (47). The second-round rookie has a chance to bounce back in Sunday's AFC Championship meeting with the Baltimore Ravens, albeit with a glaring factor working against him. All-Pro safety Kyle Hamilton serves as Baltimore's top slot defender, where Rice regularly resides, allowing just 4.9 yards per completion and 2.6 yards per target over 63 targets in the regular season. Rice will likely need a higher volume passing day from the Chiefs' attack for better results, and he's appropriately priced at $6,500 on DraftKings.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers Rashee Rice (hamstring), Kadarius Toney (hip) and Marquez Valdes-Scantling (oblique) all put in full practices on Wednesday as the team began preparing for the AFC Championship this Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs have a challenge on their hands to knock off the top seed in the AFC on the road if they want to repeat as Super Bowl champions. Baltimore's defense isn't going to make it easy on a KC offense that was down a bit in 2023, however, their pass defense took a dip late in the regular season. Rice, who was held to just four catches for 47 yards in the Divisional Round win over Buffalo, will look to bounce back. The 23-year-old rookie is really the only Chiefs pass-catcher not named Travis Kelce that is worth trusting in DFS lineups the rest of the postseason. Toney is hoping to return for the first time since Week 15.

Jan 21 11:40pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice played more of a supporting role as his team eked out a 27-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills, collecting all four of his targets for 47 yards in Sunday's Divisional Round. Outproduced yardage-wise by the much-maligned Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Rice let out a far cry from his 130-yard effort in last Saturday's wild-card win. Sitting down in the defense's soft spot, Rice provided a 26-yard catch-and-run on his longest play of the evening in the first quarter with quarterback Patrick Mahomes flushed out of the pocket. The rookie second-rounder then made a tough grab in traffic in the red zone during the second period, but it was an otherwise quiet showing out of the 23-year-old wideout. Rice may not have been the focal point that he was in his last time out, but he contributed to the Chiefs' balanced attack on Sunday. He'll aim for more production in next Sunday's AFC title battle with the Baltimore Ravens.

Jan 20 1:40am ET

Undeterred by the elements of the fourth-coldest game in NFL history, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice tagged a beat-up Miami Dolphins defense for an 8/130/1 line on 12 targets in last Saturday's wild-card triumph. It was a special postseason debut for the rookie second-rounder, whose ability to rack up yards after the catch from the shorter areas of the field played well in the subzero temperatures. Rice has now passed or tied the scuffling Travis Kelce in targets in each of K.C.'s last seven games, perhaps starting to solidify himself as quarterback Patrick Mahomes' new favorite weapon heading into Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. Matching up primarily with Rasul Douglas (knee) when these squads squared off in Week 14, Rice got the better of Buffalo's defense for a 7/72/1 output. Rice is the most expensive of K.C.'s skill positions while costing $6,800 on Sunday, but he's earned top-six WR1 treatment on the Divisional Round slate.

From RotoBaller

Jan 16 12:30pm ET

Kansas City Chiefs rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice averaged only 3.6 air yards per catch during the regular season, which ranked last among 466 receivers with at least 900 yards in a season since at least 2006. But he set a career-high in Week 17 against the Bengals with a 7.6-yard average depth per reception and backed it up with a 6.9-yard average in the win over the Dolphins in the wild-card round. He caught three passes against Miami on passes thrown more than 10 yards past the line of scrimmage -- he made just nine such catches during the regular season. With Rice and quarterback Patrick Mahomes starting to gel down the stretch and into the postseason, it could make their offense much more explosive than it was all year long. Rice's 130 yards against the Dolphins were three more yards than the career-high he set against Cincy in Week 17.
