2024 RTSports Outlook

Robinson didn't have quite the huge rookie season as some expected, but he missed out on some work throughout the season with Tyler Allgeier getting more carries than expected. Robinson had 214 carries, having fewer than 15 carries 12 of 17 games. He still managed to finish eighth overall in fantasy running back scoring, having 1,463 total yards and eight touchdowns. Robinson had double-digit fantasy points all but three games. He made some big plays with the ball in his hands. A new coaching staff could make Robinson more of a focal point in the offense. Robinson is the complete package at running back. He is a three-down back that does well on the inside and outside. He also catches the ball very well. Robinson is a big-play back that has great moves in the open field. He does try to make the big play a little too much, missing out on some yards.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Robinson was a top-10 back last year despite losing out on some touches. If he can average at least 15 rushers per game this year, he can be a top-five back if all goes well for him. Robinson will have a great weekly floor because of his reception totals. He can get around 1,200-rushing yards, 65 receptions and double-digit scores.

RotoBaller's Outlook

Bijan Robinson had an up-and-down rookie season after being selected by the Atlanta Falcons with the 8th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Despite finishing as the RB17 on a per-game basis as a rookie, Robinson's efficiency metrics should have fantasy managers chomping at the bit to roster him in 2024. Per PlayerProfiler, he was 9th among running backs in yards per touch and 5th in yards created. What's even more promising for his fantasy value is the advanced receiving metrics. Robinson was top-3 in routes run, route participation, and target share. Of running backs that played 16+ games in 2023, only Breece Hall and Christian McCaffrey had more targets than Robinson. Hall and McCaffrey finished as RB2 and RB1 on the season, respectively. With Kirk Cousins now the signal caller in Atlanta, expect the offense to take a giant step forward in 2024. That should mean many more touchdowns for Robinson, who scored just eight on 300 total opportunities as a rookie. Don't hesitate to use a top-5 draft pick on him this season.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson (ankle) will be limited throughout the team's organized team activities while dealing with an ankle injury. However, he's expected to be ready to go for training camp, which begins in late July. At this point in the offseason, organizations are careful with minor bumps and bruises, so his injury should not affect his fantasy football value -- barring a setback. After being the highest running back drafted since Saquon Barkley in 2018, Robinson enjoyed a solid rookie campaign. He rushed 214 times for 976 yards and four touchdowns to go along with 58 receptions for 487 yards and four more scores. Fantasy managers are expecting him to take the next step in 2024 with quarterback Kirk Cousins running the Atlanta offense, so he's a consensus first-round pick in all formats.

Atlanta Falcons running backs Bijan Robinson (ankle) and Jase McClellan (foot) were not at practice on Tuesday at organized team activities. It's notable, but shouldn't affect Robinson's 2024 fantasy draft stock. The 22-year-old former first-rounder is expected to be back on the field for the team's mandatory minicamp. As long as Robinson's ankle isn't bothering him once he returns to practice, it should be a non-factor by the time the 2024 regular season begins. Now that quarterback Kirk Cousins is in town, Robinson will be even more attractive as a high-end RB1 in fantasy. The former eighth overall pick in 2023 out of Texas is a do-it-all back that had 976 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 214 rushing attempts in his rookie season, adding 58 receptions for 487 yards and another four TDs in 17 games (16 starts) in 2023.

New Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson expressed his excitement about working with both running back Bijan Robinson and tight end Kyle Pitts in 2024, but he didn't go into specifics about how they'd be used. "I view those guys as versatile," Robinson said. "We will have formational versatility to move them all over and try to get the most out of what they do." Former head coach Arthur Smith was often criticized for not employing Robinson and Pitts the right way last year. Robinson, a first-round pick, fell just short of 1,000 rushing yards but made up for it with 58 catches, 487 receiving yards and four touchdowns in his rookie season. Pitts, also a former first-rounder, worked mostly out of the slot and finished with 53 catches, 667 yards and three TDs. With what's expected to be a much more aggressive offense under Robinson, both Robinson and Pitts will be more attractive in fantasy.

Atlanta Falcons' RB Bijan Robinson scored 26.10 fantasy points in Sunday's Week 18 loss in New Orleans. Robinson ran for 28 yards and caught seven passes for 103 yards with one touchdown.

Jan 7 9:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson wasn't quite as dominant as many expected heading into his rookie campaign. Despite that, Robinson was still productive and posted a solid outing in the regular season finale against the New Orleans Saints. Robinson struggled on the ground with only 28 yards on 11 carries in the loss. However, he salvaged his fantasy value with seven receptions on eight targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in the receiving game. Robinson will finish his rookie season with 976 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 214 carries. He also added an additional 487 yards with 58 receptions and four touchdowns as a receiver. Robinson has the tools to be an elite back, but head coach Arthur Smith doesn't appear to know how to unlock them. It sounds like Smith will return next season, which makes Robinson a risky RB1 in fantasy leagues.

Falcons' RB Bijan Robinson had 7 receptions for 103 yards with one touchdown in Sunday's loss in New Orleans.

Jan 5 9:40am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has looked good on the ground over the last two weeks. In fact, Robinson has rushed for over 70 yards in each of his last two games. The rookie back has also hauled in 10 receptions during that span. It appears the Falcons are finally committed to keeping Robinson involved in the offensive gameplan. That trend should continue versus the New Orleans Saints in Week 18. Robinson rushed for 91 yards and scored a touchdown during their last meeting. Given the Falcons quarterback troubles, DFS players should feel safe taking Robinson in what should be a run-heavy gameplan.

From RotoBaller

Dec 31 8:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was the clear lead back during Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. The rookie back saw 15 carries that he turned into 75 yards on the ground. Robinson also hauled in three receptions for an additional 11 yards on the ground. It was a decent day on the ground for Robinson who has seen his usage increase during the second half of the season. The Falcons are having an awful time passing the ball, so they'll likely stick to a run-heavy approach against the New Orleans Saints next week. Robinson should be able to carve out RB2 value for that game.

Dec 31 12:30pm ET

Atlanta Falcons right tackle Kaleb McGary (knee), who was listed as questionable, is officially active for the Week 17 game against the Chicago Bears. McGary had missed the last three games for the Falcons due to a right-knee injury, but his return is great news for the Falcons rushing attack with rookie first-rounder Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. Now that McGary is back and in the starting lineup, Storm Norton will move back to the bench for Atlanta. The 28-year-old McGary had a strong 2022 season and earned himself a three-year, $34.5 million contract to stick in Atlanta.

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was able to put together a strong performance versus the Indianapolis Colts last week. The rookie back topped 100 yards with ease during this game. Robinson rushed for 72 yards on 12 attempts, while hauling in seven of his 10 targets for 50 additional yards through the air. The hope is that his success continues versus the Chicago Bears in Week 17. A defensive unit that has allowed most receiving yards to opposing backs this season. Robinson should be able to carve out low-end RB1 appeal for this week.

Dynasty | Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had 72 rushing yards, seven catches and 50 receiving yards in a win against Atlanta. Dynasty Analysis: Robinson led the Falcons in both yardage categories on the day and that's certainly a plus. On the downside, he still failed to log 20 touches or score a touchdown. It's been an unbelievably frustrating season for Robinson managers, who so desperately want to see him touch the ball more. Still, we've seen some good days like this and Robinson has clearly proved he has elite talent. Time will tell if he can hold the RB1 spot through the off-season.

Dec 24 4:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson posted a dud last week, but was able to turn it around in a big way on Sunday. The rookie back rushed 12 times for 72 yards on the ground in the win over the Indianapolis Colts. He also hauled in seven of his 10 targets for 50 yards through the air. Robinson was all over the place during this game, which is what fantasy managers love to see. The move to put Taylor Heinicke under center seems to be a benefit to the fantasy value of Robinson. Heinicke used Robinson as his safety blanket all game long. The expectation is that Robinson will be significantly involved again next week, but you never know with the Falcons. He should be on the RB1 radar for next week's matchup versus the Chicago Bears.

Dec 21 6:50pm ET

Atlanta Falcons rookie running back Bijan Robinson saw his lowest carry total since Week 7 during Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers. The rookie back rushed seven times for 11 yards in the Week 15 defeat. The hope is that Robinson bounces back in a favorable matchup against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend. A defensive unit that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs. Despite that, Robinson is still a fairly risky option heading into this game. His workload seems inconsistent right now, which puts him on the low-end RB2 radar for this game.

From RotoBaller

Dec 18 3:13am ET

Dynasty | Falcons running back Bijan Robinson had 11 rushing yards, one catch, three receiving yards and lost a fumble in Atlanta's surprising loss to Carolina. Dynasty Analysis: This represents rock bottom for this year's top rookie. Robinson was out-carried 14-7 by Tyler Allgeier and the coaching staff seems content to use him sparingly for the entire season. It's been more than frustrating for dynasty managers as Robinson now has just 801 rushing yards, 41 catches, 323 receiving yards and seven total touchdowns on the season. It's hard to say if the coaching staff will return but it's safe to say most dynasty managers hope they don't. Robinson's grip as the overall RB1 is getting pretty slippery at the moment.

From Dynasty League Fantasy

Dec 17 9:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson gave a disappointing outing during Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. The rookie back rushed it seven times for 11 yards, while hauling in one of his three targets for three yards through the air. The Falcons decided to mix in all three of their backs during this game. Robinson has only seen 18 touches over the last two games after seeing an increase in usage before that. It's hard to know what kind of usage he's going to have next week. That being said, he should only be look upon as a RB2 for the Week 16 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts.

From RotoBaller

Dec 15 9:50am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was unable to get much going on the ground last week. He finished the day with 34 rushing yards, but salvaged his value with a touchdown. He also added five receptions for 54 yards through the air in the loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The expectation is that Robinson should bounce back on the ground this week. He'll get a favorable matchup against the Carolina Panthers defense. A defensive unit that has allowed a league-high 21 touchdowns to opposing backs this season. Robinson should be a solid play as a RB1 for this Week 15 matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 10 10:10pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson wasn't able to get much going on the ground during Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The rookie back rushed 10 times for 34 yards and a touchdown in the loss. He also added five receptions for 54 additional yards through the air. It's worth noting that Cordarrelle Patterson and Tyler Allgeier combined for 12 carries during this game. The Falcons were using Robinson as the workhorse back, but they could be trending away from that. Fantasy managers can be hopeful for a better game on the ground next week. Robinson should be a possible RB1 for next week's matchup against the Carolina Panthers.

From RotoBaller

Dec 8 10:10am ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has see 16 carries or more over each of the last three games. Finally, the Falcons are using Robinson as the workhorse back that fantasy managers were hopeful to get on draft day. The expectation is that the Falcons are going to continue pounding the ball with Robinson. However, Robinson runs into a tough matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. A defensive unit that has done well against the rushing attack this season. Despite that, Robinson should still be able to produce low-end RB1 value for this Week 14 matchup.

From RotoBaller

Dec 3 7:40pm ET

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson was unable to have much success on the ground during Sunday's matchup against the New York Jets. The rookie back has seen an increased workload over the last few weeks. However, Robinson wasn't able to do much with the extra touches this week. He rushed 18 times for 53 yards, while adding three receptions for 26 additional yards through the air. It was a rough day for the Falcons offense as they scored only one touchdown in the win. It's not going to get easier for Robinson against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense next week. Robinson will fall into RB2 territory for that game.
