Free-agent S Micah Hyde (Bills) told reporters on Thursday, May 16, that he will either re-sign with the Buffalo Bills or retire this offseason.

From TheHuddle

May 16 2:30pm ET

Free-agent safety Micah Hyde said he will either re-sign with the Buffalo Bills or choose retirement. Hyde has played in just 16 total games the last two years in Buffalo due to injuries, although he managed to play in 14 regular-season games in 2023 and recorded 54 tackles (37 solo), two interceptions and seven passes defended. The 33-year-old has been with the Bills since 2017 after spending the first four years of his career with the Green Bay Packers. The Packers took him in the fifth round in 2013 out of Iowa. Hyde's lone Pro Bowl season came in his first year in Buffalo, when he recorded a career-high 82 tackles (65 solo), a career-high-tying five interceptions, and a career-high 13 passes defended in 16 starts. If he returns to Buffalo and plays one more season, he'll bring a veteran presence to the Bills' secondary.

Free-agent S Micah Hyde (Bills) does not appear to have made a decision on his playing future, according to Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane.

From TheHuddle

Mar 24 9:10pm ET

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane recently said that the organization is open to bringing back safety Micah Hyde. The 33-year-old is currently a free agent but has spent the last seven seasons in Buffalo. Last season, Hyde recorded 54 tackles and two interceptions while earning a PFF coverage grade of 67.2. He's not in his prime anymore, but Hyde can still contribute to an NFL roster. Hyde is currently a free agent and eligible to sign wherever, but it seems plausible that he'd want to continue his career in Buffalo. Otherwise, Taylor Rapp and Mike Edwards figure to be the primary safety options next season.

Free-agent S Micah Hyde would still be an option for the Buffalo Bills if Hyde decides to continue his playing career, according to general manager Brandon Beane.

From TheHuddle

Mar 20 4:30pm ET

Free-agent veteran safety Mike Edwards has agreed to terms to sign with the Buffalo Bills on a one-year deal, the team announced on X. Edwards was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft but spent last year with the Kansas City Chiefs. The two-time Super Bowl champion has racked up 235 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, eight interceptions, 26 pass deflections, and three defensive touchdowns in 75 career games. He and Taylor Rapp will be tasked with helping replace longtime Bills' safeties Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde in 2024.

From RotoBaller

Mar 8 12:50pm ET

The Buffalo Bills are re-signing veteran safety Taylor Rapp to a three-year $10.62 million deal with $4.85 million in guarantees, according to 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. The contract has $3.9 million available in incentives. The organization recently cut ties with longtime starter Jordan Poyer, but they are bringing back Rapp to help in the backend. Originally a 2019 second-round pick by the Los Angeles Rams, Rapp played in 14 games (six starts) for Buffalo in 2023, totaling 50 tackles, half of a sack, and one interception. He should have an expanded role in 2024 since Micah Hyde and Poyer are set to be free agents.
