By-Laws

    • League Structure

This league will consist of 10 franchise owners. The owners will be divided randomly into 2 divisions (Red and Black), 5 teams in each division. One of the owners will be designated as the commissioner. Each owner drafts NFL players and defensive teams to fill a roster. Each week of the NFL season, the owners designate a starting lineup which score points based on the performance of their starting players. Cumulative points are tracked as well as win/loss records based on a head-to-head schedule.

    • Commissioner Duties

The commissioner will be responsible for collecting entry fee and trade money, facilitating the draft, tracking weekly points, receiving starting line-up from the owners, coordinating trades and acquisitions, distributing scoring updates on a regular basis, making final judgment on any disagreements between owners, rule interpretations, or unfair play.

    • Cost and Fees

The cost to be a franchise owner is $60.  There is a $5 fee for every trade and acquisition unless done with the blind bid system. The commissioner is paid $30 by the loser of the Toilet Bowl.

    • The Roster

Each owner must maintain a team roster of 14 players. There is no limitation on the number of players of any one position.

    • The Starting Lineup

The starting line-up must consist of the following:

        1 Quarterback

        1 Running Back

1 Flex Player (Running Back, Wide Receiver, or Tight End)

        2 Wide Receivers

        1 Tight End

        1 Kicker

        1 Defense/Special Teams Team

    • Weekly Lineup Changes

Owners may set their own weekly line-ups on the league web site. This must be done prior to the kick-off of the game in which players are involved. If no changes to the line-up are made, the previous weeks line-up will be used. If necessary, owners may contact the commissioner to make a line-up change.   No lineup changes will be accepted after 12:00 noon on Sunday.

    • Trades and Acquisitions
  1. Owners may trade players during the season. Players traded do not need to be of the same position. There is a $5 fee for each trade. Owners involved in the trade may negotiate how the trade fee is paid. The commissioner has the right to declare trades lopsided or unfair if he feels the owners involved are attempting to collaborate teams to gain an unfair advantage.
  2. Free agents are defined as NFL players or defenses not currently on a roster. Owners may trade any player for any free agent. Players traded do not need to be of the same position. Prior to the first kick-off of the season, owners may acquire players on a first-come-first serve basis for a fee of $5. During the 1st four weeks of the season, players are acquired using the blind bid system on the web site with a minimum bid of $2. Bids must be in by 10pm on Wednesday. After completing the fourth week, the waiver wire rules on the website will be followed. The waiver wire priority is based on fewest total points. In the case of a tie, win-loss record will be used, then fewest points scored the previous week. Owners must submit a waiver wire request on the website before 10:00pm Wednesday. The requests will be granted using total points. The owners with the fewest total points at that time will have the 1st chance at requested free agents. Every owner gets a chance at a request before any owner gets a 2nd request. The cost of each acquisition is $5
  3. Between Thursdays at 7am and noon on Sunday, owners may make free-agent acquisitions on a first-come-first-serve basis. The cost of these acquisitions is $5. The owner must make these trades on-line themselves to determine availability of the free-agents.
  4. The trade and acquisition deadline is the end of the regular season. There can be no roster changes after kickoff at noon on Sunday of the week 15 games. A player experiencing a season-ending injury after the deadline may be replaced with a player of the same position.

    • Playoff Schedule, Pay-out, and penalties

FFL week #1 starts with NFL week #1.

Week 1-17   High points for the week                     The owner(s) with the highest points scored each week wins $5.

If there is a tie for high points, both/all owners win $5.

Making the Play-offs

The top 2 teams by record from each division make the playoffs and play in their division as the #1 and #2 seeds. The remaining 6 teams are ranked by total points highest to lowest. The lowest 2 teams by total points are in the toilet bowl. The remaining 4 teams (highest by total points) are in the playoffs. Each team will play in the playoffs in their home division unless the 2 teams in the toilet bowl are from the same division, in which case the lowest of the 4 remaining teams will be moved to the other division for the playoffs.

Week 15        Division Semi-Finals                           1st vs. 4th and 2nd vs. 3rd of each division

(The 1st place team in each division wins $20)

Toilet Bowl                                                                   The two teams not making the playoffs play head-to-head each week of the last 3 weeks of the season (weeks 15, 16, and 17).  The best 2 out of 3 weeks is the winner. (The loser of the Toilet Bowl pays $30 to the league)

Week 16        Division Championship                      Week 15 winners of each division play head-to-head

Week 17        Super Bowl                                           Division champions play head-to-head

(Loser of Super Bowl wins $50, winner splits remainder of the pot 50/50 with the owner with the most cumulative points)

After week 17: The owner with the 2nd most cumulative points wins $50

The owner with most cumulative points splits the remainder of the pot 50/50 with the winner of the Super Bowl.

The winner of NFL game picks wins $50. Ties will split the pot.

    • Ties Breakers

Ties during regular season head-to-head matches will be decided by the designated tie breaker player.

Ties for play-off positions, play-off games, and division winners will be decided by the following succession:

  1. Best head-to-head record between tied owners (used if only 2 owners are tied for a play-off position)
  2. Best Division Record
  3. Most Points Scored Head-to-Head
  4. Total Points Scored

Note:   Starting in the 2024 season we will transition to a 2QB super flex league.
