GUILLOTINE LEAGUE
18 Teams (can run with fewer if needed)
Email draft (starting in August)
$100 entry fee
Winner takes all (less website fees)
HOW IT WORKS
There are no head-to-head matchups. Each week (or on fewer weeks if there are fewer than 18 teams), the lowest-scoring team is eliminated. So, if we start with 18 teams, then, after week 1 when the lowest-scoring team is eliminated, 17 will remain. After week 2, the lowest-scoring team of that week will be eliminated, leaving 16 teams. Ultimately, week 17 will have two teams remaining.
Once you are eliminated, your season is over. You do not participate in free agency nor do you score points in future weeks.
FREE AGENCY
All free agents are won through a blind auction. Every team will be given $1,000 in free agent auction budget (FAAB) for the season. The minimum bid on a player is $1. Once you have used up all your FAAB, you will not be able to add any more players. Free agency runs every Wednesday night and every Saturday night -- and only those two nights.
All free agents are available. In addition, all the players on the team that was eliminated that week will also be added to the free agent pool.
TRADES
There are no trades in this league.
INJURED RESERVE
There is no injured reserve in this league.
LINEUPS
Lineups consist of 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 2FLEX (no superflex) and 6 Bench for a total of 14 players. Lineups are best-ball, meaning you do NOT set a lineup each week. Rather, the website will automatically set your best-scoring lineup from the players on your team each week.
Passing touchdowns are worth 4 points, and all other touchdowns are worth 6 points. 2-point conversions gain two points for all players. Receptions are worth 1 point each. Every 10 yards rushing or receiving or 25 yards passing is worth 1 point. We will use partial points (e.g., rushing for 4 yards = 0.4 points).
TIES
In the event of a tie for the fewest points-scored in a week, the team that has scored the fewest points for the season is eliminated. If there remains a tie after that, then no team is eliminated that week. Instead, two teams will be eliminated the following week. One is the lowest-scoring team for the week, and the other is the lowest-scoring team from the tied teams from the week before. In the event that it is the same team, then the second-lowest scoring team of that week is also eliminated.
If there is a tie in Week 17 (the final week of the season) after season-long points are compared as a tie-breaker, then all tied teams will split the winnings equally.
STAT CORRECTIONS
Stat corrections will not be applied retroactively in this league. All games are final as soon as the last NFL game of the week has ended.
RESCHEDULED / FORFEITED GAMES
No roster considerations will be made in our league for NFL games that are rescheduled to a later week or forfeited.
