League cost is currently $30 to cover site fee and prizes. The site fee may change by year and prize structure could be changed if it does so dramatically and/or we don't change our league cost. At this time, with this site costing $80, our prize payout will be $30 to the Super Bowl loser, and 33% of the net balance to the Regular Season Best Points, Reg. Season Best Record, and Super Bowl winner - currently $83 each, and the last dollar to the champ.

League Schedule: Regular season, Weeks 1-14, Playoffs, Weeks 15-17, unless the NFL changes bye weeks. The goal will be to not have bye weeks during the playoffs. Each Division team will play each other twice. The rest will be played once, and a final random game. Season schedule is intended to be reset randomly each year.

Division structure: 3 teams assigned to each division. These will be randomly changed every few years. Division teams play each other twice during the regular season at a minimum.

Basic Team Structure: The maximum roster size at kickoff will be 20 players. For the yearly draft the website shows a roster size of 25 players which will be reduced to 20 players, 24-48 hours before the first kickoff, depending on the draft date.

There will be a total of 60 contract years to assign among your players, max of 10 years, min of 1. You will do this after the draft, by 5 PM on the day of the first NFL game of the year. You will email them to the commishes (Currently Bill and I) who will put the allotment to put into the system. You may also post it to the site message board.

Free Agent/Rookie Draft: Draft order will be determined by overall record, worst to first, from the final standings of the previous season. This draft will be 10 rounds and will be 1 to 10 in each round (i.e. NOT snake style). You'll have whatever contract years are available from the post-season activities, including the March 1 reset when you gain a year from every player on the roster. Contract years details available below.

Roster Size: Each owner must maintain a minimum of 13 active players and a maximum of 20 active players. There will be a one player IR.(Currently +2 for Covid only)  You can use this for players who are on the NFL IR. You can NOT use it for multiple players IR, except for Covid IR. This is going to be on the honor system, policed by all. If you are caught with more than one player on your IR not related to Covid, you lose both that player and any player you picked up by freeing the roster spot. If a game was played before the infraction found, you will have that game/s become a loss and lose the players. IR does count towards your contract-year max. Remember, all transactions, including moving people onto and off of IR are recorded for all to see. So don't cheat. Penalties will be applied retroactively if necessary.

Keepers: Each owner can keep a maximum of 15 players from year to year. This will likely happen on its own due to contract expirations, but if not, you need to make the cuts. This will allow each owner to draft 10 free agents and/or rookies. Should an owner decide to keep less than 15 players, they will have an opportunity to pick up free agents after the draft up to a total of 25 players. Again, the roster would have to be reduced to 20 players by the first kickoff of the season.

Contract Lengths: The contract length of each player will be from 1-10 years. The maximum years available to use for a team is 60. That number is assigned by the owners and works as a defacto "salary cap". At the end of each season, March 1, the contracts are reduced automatically (by this website) by 1 year, which drops players with 1 year contracts. Any player added as a free agent during the season will have a 1 year contract. That contract can be extended at the end of the season. Details to follow of the post-season procedure. Any player dropped during the season will retain his contract for the duration of the season. At the end of the season, if you have picked up such a player, you may renegotiate his contract. Details still to follow. One player from your Original starting roster may have his contract renegotiated at the end of the season. Details, coming right up.

Playoffs: Consists of 8 teams, in 3 rounds, assuming the NFL does not add bye weeks, The 4 division winners will be the first selected. The next two best records of all the remaining teams will be selected next. Finally the highest point total of the remaining teams will be the last selected. Tie break using standard tie break rules as listed below under the Standings section. Those teams will be seeded according to total points, and follow standard bracketology rules 1v8, 2v7, 3v6, 4v5 with 1 and 4 sharing a bracket, etc... 

End of season: Officially the site ends the season at the end of February. At that time all contracts are reduced by one year and players whose contract is up are dropped. So, between the end of our season and the end of February you must make any adjustments. You will post on the message board, or email the commishes about them (Currently Bill and Andy). So how do you renegotiate or extend contracts? Any of the 60 years you haven't used up may be allocated. Also if you have guys on a 1-year contract you won't be renewing, drop them, and that adds to the available total. You can drop anyone for this purpose, I just mention the 1-years because they go away no matter what on March 1. Also the renegotiated contracts (one original roster spot and any player picked up during the season with a contract of more than 1 existing) can allow you to reclaim (or use up) contract years. The renegotiations are just that, you can add or reduce contract years as desired on applicable players.
