This league is administered through Real Time Fantasy Sports
(http://www.rtsports.com/) . Internet access is necessary for participation.

The 2023 league will be comprised of five separate conferences of 10 teams each. Each conference will draft from a full and separate NFL pool of players. Each conference will be divided into two divisions of 5 teams each. Divisions will be designated for each team during the selection of draft order with odd and even draft positions going into different divisions.

The Regular Season:

The regular season will begin with week 1 of NFL play and last through week 12. Post season will begin with week 13 of NFL play and end in Week 17. Ties will not be permitted to occur during the regular season. Any tie scores during the playoffs will be broken by our tiebreaker rules.

Each team will play divisional opponents twice during the regular season and will play against the other non division teams in their conference to achieve an 12 week regular season. After the completion of regular season games in week 12, the division champs and remaining top wildcard teams will be seeded into a playoff bracket.

Weekly rankings of teams, as published by the Commissioner on the website and at the Chateau Pub on our League wall, will be based on overall record and points scored.

The Playoffs:
For the 2023 season each conference’s 2 division champs will receive an automatic bid to the playoffs and will be automatically ranked as the top seeds based on league tiebreakers. The top two wildcard teams from each conference will also receive playoff spots for a total of 4 teams per conference. There will also be 4 "at large" wildcard spots selected for the playoffs among the top 4 remaining teams selected from the entire league for a total of 24 playoff teams. All playoff placements and seedings are based on league tiebreakers under "tiebreaker rules".

The top 8 division champs will receive byes in week 1 of the playoffs, while the bottom 2 seeded division champs will be seeded into the week one divisional playoffs as the top 2 seeds in the wildcard round. The playoff bracket can be found under the My Links tab at the top of your page, for the 2022 Official playoffs and Consolation playoff bracket.

All teams not qualifying for the official playoffs will be placed in a separate consolation bracket. This consolation playoff will take place at the same time of the regular playoffs, but teams within this bracket will not have access to any transactions for add-drops since teams not making the playoffs are considered “frozen”. Only teams in the official playoffs are allowed add-drop transactions if they are available to them. Since the website settings will block you from all transactions, if any team in the consolation bracket wants to move a player currently on IR, back to your active roster, and drop a player on the active roster, just send me a message and I will do it on my end. This is the only legal move you can make since you cant add players. The teams in the consolation bracket will compete for a $300 winner-take-all prize to be awarded to the final winner only. The 26 remaining teams will be seeded based on our tiebreaker system, with the top 6 teams getting byes in the first round.

Team Composition

Each fantasy team will be comprised of 16 “players”, plus one injured reserve spot
Total maximum players per roster: 16+ 1 IR

Position: Maximums

Quarterback: 2
Running Back: 4
Wide Receiver or Tight End: 6
Kicker: 2
Defense/Special Team: 2

IR: 1 Regular injury spot

Legal Starting Lineup

Maximum Starters per team: 8

Position: Minimum/Maximum
Quarterback: 1/1
Running Back: 1/3
Wide Receiver or Tight End: 2/4
Kicker: 1/1
Defense/Special Team: 1/1

Team Roster, Flex Rules and Lineup Special Rules

The Wide Receiver and Tight End positions will be combined in this league so you may draft these positions freely with any combination. The Defense and Special Teams positions will be combined for statistical purposes within scoring rules. Starting lineups will be allowed flex positions between Running Backs and the Wide Receiver/Tight End positions. The following combinations are legal.

A) 1 Running Back and 4 Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
B) 2 Running Back and 3 Wide Receivers/Tight Ends
A) 3 Running Back and 2 Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

You have complete freedom to adjust your lineup prior to the games beginning each week and you may even swap players out prior to game time, but the system will NEVER allow an owner to change the starting or bench lineup status for a player whose game has already started.

Your team lineup should be complete by the beginning of the last game for each NFL week. "Complete" meaning that you have a player started for each slot on the lineup. Injured players started by owners, that are game time decisions or questionable or doubtful, or any other status, and that end up not starting are considered legal starts in which the owner took a chance and must pay the price.

Team owners are completely responsible for their lineups. The commissioner will never set a teams lineup unless asked by the team owner due to illness, travel, etc. A team owner that forgets to set their lineup, such as leaving bye players on their starting lineup, may not request the lineup to be changed after the games have started and will only get points accrued by starters that they set. The Commissioner will try to contact teams if he notices errors in the lineup, but the commissioner is under to obligation to search for such teams with lineup errors. If the team appears to be abandoned by the owner, the commissioner reserves the right to contact the owner of the team and give a warning or dismiss the owner from the league in the next year, but cannot act to fix the lineup on a week to week basis. It's a league of adults who pay real money to play. If an owner abandons their team, that was their decision, but they may not be invited back to the league.

The Draft
The 2023 drafts will take place on the Saturday and Sunday of the 2nd Pre-Season week. There will be two drafts on Saturday and three on Sunday. The Saturday drafts will take place at 12pm and 3pm. The Sunday drafts will take place at 11am, 2pm and 5pm. To take part in the draft team owners must first register with the commissioner, provide a team name, owners list, phone numbers and email addresses. The full registration fee of $140 must be paid prior to the draft.

No league team or owner will be allowed to participate in a draft without first paying the full amount of dues prior to the draft. Owners will be called during July prior to the August drafts and asked for their intent to participate and in which draft they wish to participate. Once an owner gives their intent to draft and reserves a draft spot, they are in agreement to pay fees before drafting, no later than the time of the draft, or they shall forfeit their team for the year and not participate in that year’s league. The forfeited spot in the draft will be auctioned to the highest bidder prior to the draft, and winning bidder will assume control of the team and draft position. Any owner from any draft, who has paid their dues in total, may participate in the auction. Bids will begin at $50. If the winning bid is below the new due amount of $140, payouts will be lowered at the Commissioner’s discretion.

Each conference draft will use the entire NFL player pool. The draft order will be selected through a drawing prior to each draft. After taking draft roll, counting that all the correct teams are present, and counting the chips in the bag, numbered chips will be drawn. These chips designate in which order the teams may select their draft position. (Example: if you draw the #2 chip, you select your draft position after the #1 chip has selected. You may select any available position in the draft when it is your turn. If you get the #1 chip, you may choose to be 5th in the draft order. This will continue until all draft slots are selected)

Division placements will be set by the commissioner based on team positions in the draft (odd and even spots going into separate divisions). All teams comprising all divisions will be posted for the entire conference to see prior to the first pick of each draft. The draft picks will snake between draft rounds and trading draft positions is not allowed. The draft will consist of 16 rounds.

Each owner will be provided with updated cheat sheets for all positions, the NFL schedule with bye weeks, registration forms and draft forms. It is the team owner’s responsibility to monitor the selections of other teams, mark their own selections and be aware of time constraints during their time on the board. Each team will be allowed 2 minutes to make their selection during each round. Available players, current round, previous selections and time remaining per pick will be presented on the big screen in the Chateau Pub using the latest version of FanDraft Software.

Cash Awards
All league rules concerning the payment, payout and organization of team dues, fees, and payments shall be at the discretion of the Commissioner, unless a league rule change on these topics is specifically proposed by a league owner.

All league fees, ($7000 from 50 dues paid of $140 per team) minus the cost of the Rtsports.com website ($160.00), minus Fandraft software ($22.00), minus The Marshall Bruner Coach of the Year Award from Crown Awards ($65), and minus a commissioner fee of ($333) to James Bertrand, will be paid out as winnings. ($6420 total)

The team within the entire league that attains the highest point total each week among their starting lineup will be credited a $20 cash prize into their online account. If teams tie for the highest weekly score the $20 will be equally divided among the tied teams. Regular season division champions will each receive a $50 prize into their accounts. A $200 prize will be awarded to the #1 seeded team in the playoffs, and this award, known as the Marshall Bruner Coach of the Year Award, will be accompanied by an Acrylic Trophy for the winner to keep. The top 4 finishing teams in the league will be paid out cash prizes with the remainder of all fees based on the following amounts for the 2021 season: 1st place-$3000, 2nd place-$1250, 3rd place-$600, 4th place-$350, and the Consolation playoff winner will receive $300. All prize money may be collected from the Commissioner after the last week 17 game on Monday, January 3rd. Usually we wait until after the score adjustments by Elias Sports on the Thursday following the last game, in case of last minute official stat adjustments. The Pub Bowl will end after the final week 17 game. The Commish will contact all members with positive balances in their account after the season and pay each member in an envelope at the Chateau Pub. If you are not present to meet the commish, your envelopes will be kept by the Commish and any winning will be rolled over to the next year and applied to dues.

Player Add/Drops
If you choose to add/drop players from your team’s roster, you must add and drop the same player position (example: QB drop, QB add). Each team will be limited to 20 free agent acquisitions per year.

Each team has one regular Injured Reserve spot on their roster. You may place a player into your IR position if they are classified as questionable or worse. The website will not allow you to place anyone in IR if they are not classified by their team as questionable or worse. Players on your Injured Reserve do not count against your total number of players on your roster. Suspended players also count as "injured", so yes you can place suspended players on your IR, along with Covid positive statuses. Players holding out and not participating in games (aka the 2018 Le’veon Bell situation, and the 2019 Antonio Brown and Melvin Gordon situations) are labeled by the NFL as non-injury out, so they qualify for IR spots also. A player may only enter the IR if they are questionable or worse, but if their status changes to healthy while they are in IR, they may remain in the IR until the owner moves them out. There is no system management option for your commish to auto kick players from the IR if they get healthy within IR. So, once a player is allowed inside the IR due to injury, etc., they can stay until moved by the owner.

All add/drop transactions will be completed online using the teams>add/drop tab on the league website. Teams may begin to alter their roster through add/drop in 2023 beginning at 7:00am CT, Monday, August 28th. Prior to the first week’s games, all add/drop requests will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Free Agent add/drops will be suspended after regular season Monday Night games have begun and the waiver wire will become active at 7:00am Tuesday morning.

After the first week the add/drop procedure will have 2 phases. The first phase will be the conference waiver wire which can be found in the teams>waiver wire tab of the website. The waiver wire will start in week 2 and continue through week 11. No waiver wire will occur during the playoffs. Every team can request players to add to their roster on the waiver wire. This request must be completed by Tuesday at 10:00 pm each week. After this time players will be awarded worst to first by a simplified conference standings system which is not the same as our playoff tiebreaker system. This conference waiver wire tiebreaker system is decided by first: overall record, second: division record, third: total points scored in games, 4th: head to head among tied teams, 5th: points scored in head to head games. Maximum number of players awarded will be 10 player per team per waiver wire with only one player per round.

After the waiver wire players are awarded, the add/drops will then enter phase two on a free-for-all first come-first served basis which begins at 6:00am Wednesday. Owners may not pick up players whose games have already started/ended for the active week or drop players on their current roster (starters or reserves) who's games have already started/ended for the active week.

Requests to add/drop, uninjured high quality players will be considered illegal trading and will not be allowed by the commissioner. Collusion between teams, in any fashion will not be tolerated and could result in a score of zero for the week of the infraction. Teams eliminated from the official playoffs will not be allowed to make any add/drops. Their players will be considered frozen. Teams participating in the 3rd place game are not considered out of the playoffs and will still have access to add/drop transactions.

Tie Breakers

Ties are not allowed during the regular season or playoffs. During the regular season and playoffs if two teams tie scores the tie-breakers (1 point to winning team) will be decided with the following in descending order: 1st with the 5 top scoring bench players, 2nd with the 4 top scorers, 3rd with the 3 top scorers, 4th with the top 2 scorers, 5th with highest points-for accumulated to the current week of the season, 6th with most high-score weeks and 7th with a coin toss.

For selection of division champions within a single conference the overall winning percentage will be the first method for selection before tie-breakers.
Tie-Breakers for division champ are:
*for two teams tied (1st-head to head, 2nd-division winning percentage, 3rd-conference winning
percentage, 4th-points for, 5th number of top scoring weeks, 6th-coin toss.
*for three or more teams tied (1st-best winning percentage in games among the tied clubs, 2nd-
division winning percentage, 3rd-conference winning percentage, 4th-points for, 5th number of
top scoring weeks, 6th-coin toss.
***During any part of this three or more teams tie breaking procedure, if two teams remain tied
after other teams have been eliminated, tie breakers revert to the two team rules

For selection of conference wildcard playoff positions within a single conference, the overall winning percentage will be the first method for selection before tie-breakers.
Tie-Breakers for wildcards are:
*for two teams tied in the same division (apply two tied team rules on tie breakers for division
champ)
*for three or more tied teams in the same division (apply three or more tied team rules on tie
breakers for division champ.)
*for two teams tied in different divisions (1st-head to head if applicable, 2nd-conference winning
percentage, 3rd-points-for, 4th-number of top scoring weeks, 5th-coin toss.
*for three or more tied teams in different divisions 1st-Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2, 2nd-head-to-head sweep {applicable only if one club has defeated each of the other or if one club has lost to each of the others}, 3rd-best wining percentage in games among the tied clubs {applicable if all teams have played each other}, 4th-conference wining percentage, 5th-points-for, 6th-number of top scoring weeks, 7th- coin toss.

***During any part of this three or more teams tie breaking procedure, if two teams remain tied
after other teams have been eliminated, tie breakers revert to the applicable same division or
different division two team rules.

Selection of At-large wildcards between conferences:
To place the first at-large spot, the same tiebreaker rules apply as with the single conference in order to find the highest ranked team in each conference, then any teams tied with overall record are compared by points-for for tiebreaker seeding. If points-for are tied, then the team with the most high-score weeks is applied as the tiebreaker with a split of high score being worth one half. This process is repeated for each of the 4 at-large wildcard playoff spots.

Playoff Seeding Rules: For the official playoff bracket, the 1st tiebreaker for seeding of division champs 1-10 and wildcard teams seeded 11-24 will be overall record, then points scored, then total number of high-score weeks. No conference tiebreakers, such as head to head, or division records are referenced in this seeding. The same process will be in place for seeding the 26 teams in the consolation bracket.

After the first round of each playoff bracket (official and consolation), the wildcard winners will be re-seeded into the next round with the lowest wildcard winner taking on the highest ranked bye team in the second round, all the way down to the highest ranked wildcard winner taking on the lowest ranked team in second round or as specified in the consolation bracket for wildcard winners playing other wildcard winners. This re-seeding will be done in the same process as the initial seeding, based on overall record, points scored and total number of high-scoring weeks as tiebreakers, without reference to conference tiebreakers such as head to head, or division records.
