The draft party will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24th, with the draft itself to begin at 6:30 p.m.. The party will be held at 5 Steam Brewery Court, Henrico, VA 23231.
You must participate in the draft to be in the league. Preferably in person, though on-line is possible. You alternatively can designate someone to draft a team on your behalf if you are unable to draft in real time. There is an Auto Draft capability that can optionally be used in your absence, but it is highly suggested to have someone monitor it to ensure it is functioning as desired. Otherwise, we may have to draft on your behalf if this function is not properly used, and you or a backup are unavailable to make selections. I ESTIMATE the draft will conclude by 9 p.m. This assumes everyone is seated and ready to go at 6:30 p.m.!
The waiver wire order for the first waiver wire (ONLY) shall be the inverse order of the draft. The remaining waiver wire order shall be as indicated in the Free Agents rules.
The top 5 ranked teams (based up W-L percentage) in the league during the 13-week fantasy regular season will make the main playoffs. The highest scoring owner that is not in the top 5 shall take the 6th and final playoff spot. There will be a loser's bracket playoff for the bottom 6 teams to determine a final 7-12th place ranking.
In the event two teams are tied at the end of the season, head-to-head games will be the first tiebreaker, most points scored during the regular season will be the second tiebreaker (if necessary), W-L percentage vs. other playoff teams will be the third tiebreaker, most points scored during the season at the kicker position will be the fourth tiebreaker, the biggest Dolphins fan will be the 5th tiebreaker (as determined by the League Commissioner, who can be bought). If still tied, it will be determined by a coin toss.
If more than two teams are tied with each other, then win/loss percentage of games against the teams tied will be the first tie breaker, followed by the tie breaker sequence noted above until an initial winner of the tie is confirmed. Then the tie breaker rules are applied again for the remaining teams that are tied.
In the first round of the playoffs, team # 3 will play team # 6, and team # 4 will play team # 5. The top two teams get a first-round bye. In the second round, team #1 will play the lowest ranked team that won the previous week, and team #2 will play the other team that won. The two teams that lost in the first round will play each other in the second round to determine final 5th and 6th place finish in the league. Round three will be the Super Bowl, with the surviving teams playing each other. The losing teams from round two will also play in the third round, to determine the final 3rd and 4th place finish.
The LOSER'S bracket playoffs will have a similar format. Team number 7 and 8 will have a first-round bye, while team 9 plays 12, and team 10 plays 11. In the second round, team #7 will play the lowest ranked team that won the previous week, and team # 8 will play the other team that won. The two teams that lost in the first round will play each other in the second round to determine the final 11th and 12th place finish in the league. Round three will be the Loser's Bracket title game, with the surviving teams playing each other. The losing teams from round two will also play in the third round, to determine the final 9th and 10th place finish.
If a regular season game ends in a tie, the Survivor Island Challenge tie breaker rules will be used to resolve the tie, and one point will be added to the winner's score. If a playoff game ends in a tie, then the tie breaker rules for The Survivor Island Challenge shall be used to resolve the tie.
Owners can submit and accept trade offers. Once trades are accepted by the two owners, the Commissioner will review the trade and decide upon final approval. The trade will be approved unless, in the Commissioner’s exclusive judgment, the trade appears to be based upon collusion, unfair play, or an unjust trade. For example, if two owners trade QBs when one of them is on a bye week, then reverse the trade when the other is on a bye week in a later week. Or if a player trades someone who was just lost for the season due to injury. Note that Commissioner approval does not substitute for sound owner judgment and does not certify that the trade is balanced or wise. The Commissioner is electronically notified when the owners agree to a trade, but no guarantee is made as to the speed of Commissioner approval when owners have finalized a trade. So, it is advised to finalize trades in advance of game day when possible. It is also advised that the owner's text the Commissioner at 804-814-8091 if you have agreed to a trade if there is any concern of the Commissioner seeing and approving of the trade in time.
The Survivor Island Challenge provides another way to compete within the league without you having to make any additional efforts. It begins with all owners "on the island" with a chance to win. The owner with the lowest cumulative points scored during the first 4 weeks of the season will be eliminated (kicked off the island) and will no longer be eligible for the Survivor Island Challenge. At the end of the fifth week, the owner that is still on the island with the lowest score THAT week (not cumulative) will be eliminated. At the end of the sixth week, the owner that is still on the island with the lowest score THAT week will be eliminated. And so forth until the end of the season to determine the Survivor Island Challenge winner. In the event of a tie on any given week, the tiebreaker shall be the highest total yards that week passing, rushing, and receiving by the team's starting QB, RBs, WRs, TEs, and Flex players. If there is still a tie, it will be resolved by which kicker scored the most points that week. If there is still a tie, it will be resolved by which team's defense/special teams scored the most points. If still tied then, it will be determined by which owner shows the most support of the Miami Dolphins in real life (as determined by the Commissioner). If still tied, then it will be determined by a coin toss.
