2023 FFL RULES
1. All fantasy team owners shall assemble at an agreed upon time and place for the annual player draft meeting.
2. The FFL Draft will be a NBA style draft. The 4 non-playoff teams will each have a separate amount of papers in a hat as follows: 10th place 4; 9th place 3; 8th place 2; 7th place 1. A lottery will be conducted in order to arrange a draft order for the upcoming season. The remaining playoff teams will be placed by playoff finishes and season ending record.
3. Before the draft each owner will have to declare whom he wishes to name as his Franchise Player if he chooses to do so. Defense special teams cannot be protected.
4. You may choose any player from your end of the season roster and name him as a Franchise Player. If you choose to do this, there will be a twenty-dollar protection fee. If you qualify for the playoffs your protection fee will be returned, if your protected player leads the league in points scored at his position, and is still on your roster at the end of the season, you will get your protection fee back. Fail, and it will be divided up equally among the other playoff teams. You may protect the same player every year provided you pay an additional one hundred percent protection fee on top of what you paid the previous year. A $ fee will be deducted this season for the use of commissioner web site.
5. Line-ups are your responsibility. Deadline for line ups will be set on the web site at one minute prior to the kickoff of the first game each week. If you are unable to access the site please call or email your line up to the commissioner.
6. A normal line up will consist of 1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 3 wide receivers or tight ends, 1 kicker a defense special team, and a coach.
7. You may place any player that is placed on the NFL's injured reserved list on the FFL's injured list. Once the player is activated, you have one week to reactivate him in writing to the commissioner. Failure to do so will mean that you have lost that player and he becomes an unused player free for anyone to pick up.
8. Due the NFL's IR rule, any FFL team that would be forced into taking a zero, due to a non IR injury, in which his player is listed as doubtful, or out, would be able to petition the commissioner for a injury move. If ok'ed you could pick up any available player for use in that game only. Should you decide to keep this player a free move would be counted against you. You would be eligible for one injury move per position.
9. Trading is allowed; any player acquired in a trade must be kept. You may only release a player acquired by trade by using a free roster move or releasing him through the FFL injured reserve rule. You may re-trade or release a traded player only after in appears in your starting line up at least twice.
10. The commissioner may veto any trade. The commissioner's veto may be overruled by a majority vote of the league owners.
11. A 14-week schedule will be played. 4 wild card teams with the best record will playoff with the winners playing the division winner, those winners will play for the league championship. Entry fee for the 2017 season is $30.00. Payoff for the 2017 season will be announced at a later date.
12. The following is the tie-breaking scheme should two or more teams have identical records at the end of the season. 1) Record against other teams in the tie. 2) Record within the division 3) Total points scored. 4) Total points scored head to head.5) Coin toss.
13. Trading deadline is the completion of the tenth week of play. You are also allowed five roster moves. Three of these moves will be free; the last two will cost $5.00 dollars each. Should you decide not to use your moves before the trading deadline you automatically loose all moves leaving you with one move for the remainder of the season. Your team's roster will be automatically frozen once your team has been eliminated from the playoff hunt. Money from free moves will go towards to pool
14. All owners will pay their $30.00 entry fee and any protection fee before they draft.
15. In the event that there is an odd number of teams in the league the person playing against no opponent will be required to score more points than the lowest winning score for that week in order to be credited with a win.
16. All new owners must be approved by a majority of the league owners.
17. Before drafting starts protected players will be named on a secret ballot system.
18. Waiver Wire,the wire will be posted Tuesday Afternoon. Closed bids will be accepted until 24 hours prior to kickoff of the 1st game each week. 1st come 1st serve moves will be allowed up to kickoff of the 1st game each week. No moves will occur after the 1st game of each week starts. Bids for new players will start with the announcement of the waiver wire.
19. All rules are now in effect for the 2023 season. They may only be changed during the season will 100% league approval or after the season with a simple majority.
