Additional Rules:
records set: total points: 2,369-reservoir dogs, single game: 220-reservoir dogs, single player: 87-shaun alexander (shady). The Season Dues of $110 will be collected on draft day. A one-time entrance fee of $110 to be paid by all team owners. Most of the fee goes into the league money pool for prizes, but a small amount is to cover the cost of the draft board, stats program, and other expenses. Payment installments may be arranged after approval from the commish, but if the full $100 is not received by week 2 of the season, team owner will be fined or penalized (example: team will be credited with an automatic loss to their season record each week until the $100 is received). The draft is the single most important event of the fantasy football year. This is when all team owners gather together to draft their fantasy teams. Furthermore, this will be the only time during the season that all owners are present at one time, so other important league issues will be discussed at the draft. The event will take between 2 ½ and 3 ½ hours. Please have your draft prospects ready, this will make the entire process faster and more enjoyable. A prepared draft board of NFL players by position will be used, but draft guides and magazines are highly recommended. Or you can just pick the coolest names. Draft order will be decided using a lottery draft similar to the NBA. The draft will be snake style. Each round of the draft will proceed in the opposite order of the previous round. For example, the draft order for the first round will be: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and the second round will be: 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Each round of the draft will be timed: two minutes will be allowed for the first four rounds, then one minute for the remainder of the draft. Taking too much time will result in forfeit of your pick for that round. Use your time wisely and good luck. Big Game Fantasy Football League 2003 Official Rules and Regulations The League The Big Game League will consist of 12 teams. There will be three conferences with four teams in each. Teams will play head-to-head on a weekly basis throughout the regular season. One Commissioner will oversee major activities of the entire. The league will meet weekly during Monday Night Football at TIME OUT SPORTS BAR to discuss issues, make trades, make fun of Eric Dickerson, drink beer, play golden tee and conduct a free agency draft. Attendance is optional, but highly recommended since drunk owners are more likely to trade than sober owners. The Teams Each team will carry 16 players on their roster. This year we will not use an injured reserve. It is too much of a hassle to keep up with and could easily be abused. Having 16 players on a team gives you enough room to carry an injured player. This also injects a little more strategy in the game since you may have to decide whether or not to hang on to that injured player. Starting Line-ups Your starting line-up each week will consist of either of the following: 1 Quarterback 1 Quarterback 2 Running back 1 Running back 2 Wide receiver 3 Wide receiver 1 Tight end 1 Tight end 1 Kicker 1 Kicker 1 defense/Sp. Teams 1 defense/Sp. Teams Third option is the Run-and-Shoot offense which uses 1 RB and 4 WR’s with no TE. IMPORTANT: You CANNOT start 2 RBs and 3 WRs. If you do you will forfeit that game. Always doublecheck your lineups!!! „h You must submit your starting line-up on the website each week before the opening kick-off of the week’s first game. If you do not submit a line-up then your line-up from the previous week will automatically be used. Remember that some weeks have games played on Thursdays. GET YOUR LINE-UPS IN EARLY!!! „h How to turn in your weekly line-up: 1. With the use of the website everything should run smooth from the get-go. Just enter your lineup in at your convenience, but obviously it has to be in by noon on Sunday or earlier when games start being played on Thursdays and Saturdays. 2. If for some reason you’re having a problem entering it in call me immediately and I will enter it in for you. Just don’t wait till the last minute to get a hold of me. Scoring Scoring is based on TD runs, passes, and receptions: 0-9yds 6pts 10-39yds 9pts 40>yds 12pts 2 point conv's 2pts „h Double points are given to players who score out of position. For example, if a Quarterback rushes for a 15 yd TD, he will receive 18pts (9 pts for the yardage TD and 9pts for out of position). „h QB, RB, WR, TE earn 1 pt for every 10yds rushing and receiving combined and QB earns 1 pt for every 30yds passing. „h 5 Bonus pts will be awarded if a RB, WR, or TE per 100 or more rushing + receiving yds combined. And if a QB gets 300 or more yds passing + rushing + receiving yds combined. Scoring based on field goals: Extra point 1pt 1-29yds 3pts 30-39yds 4pts 40-49yds 5pts 50>yds 10pts Scoring based on Def/Sp. Team: Sacks 1pts Safety 2pts Fumble Recovery 3pts INT’s 3pts Shut out 10pts TD 6pts All scoring stats will be taken from the Internet. This year’s stats program will be Fantasy Commissioner by First Place Sports Software. The scoring system is subject to change in case of any problems or program limitations, but I expect few changes from this format. All members will be notified if any changes occur. Injury Rules If a starting player gets injured in the course of the game, the owner’s first back-up player at the position will become the starter. For example, if your starter, Kurt Warner, gets knocked unconscious, then you will get the stats for your back-up, Steve McNair. But if your original starter returns later in the game, even for a minute, you will get the original starter’s stats for the entire game. The original starter must be out for the rest of the game in order to get your back-up’s stats. Exception: If your starter got hurt but still outscored your back-up, then you get the original starters stats. If the owner has no back-up at the position or if the back-up is on bye week, then the owner will get the NFL team’s back up player at that position. For example, if your starter, Marshall Faulk, is hurt during the game, then you will get the Rams back-up RB, Lamar Gordon's stats for the game. If that second backup player is already on another fantasy team, then you are S.O.L. Free Agency Free Agency will be different this year than from years past. The commish will still approve the moves though. Mondays will be the first day to acquire free agents. E-mail or call me with your FA requests if you can’t make it to Timeout. Midnight on Mondays will be the deadline for priority FA requests. Moves will be examined by the commish and hopefully put into effect. Priority will go to teams with losing records. Ties will be decided by total points scored. Free agency after Monday is first come first serve. Remember, your roster must not exceed 16. If it does, players will be cut automatically to make 16. Any questions just ask. Trades Trades can be made between two or more teams involving any number of players as long as all teams involved have 16 or less players after trading is done. The Commish and the League have the right to veto any trade considered unfair. For example, Edgerrin James may not be traded for Sherman Williams. Players should be equal. Remember that your roster must not exceed 16. If it does, players will be cut automatically to make 16. The Playoffs The regular season lasts 14 weeks and the playoffs will be the two following weeks (weeks 15 and 16 of the NFL regular season). The top team from each division will reach the playoffs automatically. The remaining team with the best record (also points) will earn a wild-card birth making four teams going into the playoffs. The two teams with the worst records will play each other in the Toilet Bowl. The loser buys drinks for next year’s draft (if they dare show their face again). Prizes The team that scores the most points each week will receive $25 2nd most points weekly-$10 $400 super bowl winner $145 super bowl loser Final Statement Rule changes may be proposed to the league members at the weekly meeting. The proposal will be passed into law if 7 of 12 owners are in favor. Ties will be broken by the Commish. Any decision by the Commish may be overridden by a majority vote of the owners.
