Additional Rules:
2002 Fantasy Football
The entry fee will be $100, which is due in total at the draft. Weekly winners will be paid $20 for first and $10 for second. The rest of the money will go into the prize fund, which will be distributed at the end of the season.
Prize fund division (2006 Amendment):
60% of total prize fund for The Playoffs:
1st--60%
2nd--25%
3rd--15%
40% of total prize fund for Top Points:
1st--60%
2nd--25%
3rd--15%
The Draft
The draft will take place XXXXXXXXX. We will draft 17 players. You can draft whatever you want, but your starting lineup must consist of one of the following:
1QB, 1RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAM
OR
1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAM
OR
1QB, 0RB, 4WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAM
OR
1QB, 0RB, 3WR, 2TE, 1K, 1DEFENSE/SPECIAL TEAM
Fantasy regular season schedule
The fantasy regular season will be 13 weeks long. That means weeks 14 through 16 will be our playoffs.
Scoring method
Points will be scored using decimal places. Using this program will aid in scoring this way and will eliminate the need for tie-breakers. Example: Your quarterback throws for 320 yards and rushes for 15 yards. Your score for that player would be 12.8 for passing (320/25=12.8) and 1.5 for rushing (15/10=1.5) for a total of 14.3 points.
The program has the final say on scoring--whatever the program scores certain unique plays is what the league will go with. The commissioner will not adjust scoring.
To view the entire scoring method go to "scoring Options"
Tiebreakers
There should be no need to name a tie-breaker player to your lineup as we have done in the past. This is due to the implementation of decimals into the scoring system. If by chance we do have a tie, then it is just that, a tie. If a tie occurs in the playoffs both teams will advance to the next round or split their winnings if it occurs in the final round.
Free Agents
Only one free agent acquisition will be allowed per week. Free agents can be picked up before the season starts for free. Since we are drafting so early there is the chance that one of our top players might get hurt in the last two preseason games. If anyone loses one of their top "5" draft picks to injury during the last two preseason games, they then would have first preference on the injured player's replacement (if available).
Free Agent Acquisition Order
The free agent order will be determined at the pre-draft meeting--we will draw cards to determine the order. Once you pick up a free agent you will go to the end of the line. Example: (14 teams) You have the first pick, which you use. You now have to go to the end of the line and pick 14th, or thus, you have last preference on pick-ups for the next week. The deadline for free agents acquisitions before the season starts will 8:00 p.m. the Thursday before the first game.
Free Agent Acquisition Deadline
The last day to pick up free agents is Thursday prior to Sunday games. The time is 11:00 p.m. est. (7:00 p.m. central for Dana & Aaron until the time change takes place, then it will be 11:00 p.m.) The deadline will change for special games that take place during the week (Turkey day or Thursday Night games) When this occurs the deadline will move up one day to Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. est. The Year-End Free Agent/Trade Deadline Date is listed in the above rules. No more player movement can be made after this date (pick ups, IR movement, etc.)
Playoffs
The playoffs begin week 14 and end on week 16. The top 8 teams, according to record will make the playoffs. If a tie in record occurs the team with the highest total points will be in.
Loser Bowl Playoffs. Everyone else will be in the Loser Bowl playoffs. The teams will be ranked according to win/loss record and WILL NOT reseed after each round. The winner of the Loser Bowl will be awarded $50 (2009 amendment).
2004 Amendment--Playoff will consist of the top eight teams with the other six going to the loser bowl. no first round byes will be awarded.
Keeper League
This League is now a KEEPER LEAGUE--meaning we will be able to keep one player from the 2002 draft for an additional year(s) not to exceed four years including the initial draft year. First round draft choices as well as undrafted players will not be able to be protected. A protected player will cost you that player's position, minus one round, in the following year's draft and so on up to three years. Example: You pick a guy in the 10th round of the 2002 draft and decide to keep him. You would lose your 9th round pick in 2003. If you decide to keep the player two more years, you would then lose you 8th pick in 2004 and your 7th pick in 2005. You would not be able to keep the player any more after the 2005 season.
2005 Amendment
Any player that remains on a team's final roster is eligible to be a keeper for the following season. This includes free agent aquisitions, as well as player trades. If a free agent is "kept" the following year a 6th round pick will be given up in that year's draft. A traded player that has been "kept" will retain its drafted position minus one round, unless that player was drafted later than the 6th round. Example: You are traded a guy that was drafted in the 10th round during the 2005 season, that player remains on your final roster, thus making him eligible for keeper status. In the 2006 season you would lose a 6th round pick in order to keep that player.
Any player that was drafted and is later released (i.e. broke dick-- IR, not performing, etc.) and is picked up as a free agent will retain its drafted position minus one round, unless that player was drafted after the 6th round. Examples: A 10th round pick would be kept the following year as a 6th round pick. If you pick up a guy that was originally drafted in the 2nd round and is kept, a 1st round pick would be given up the following year.
The 2005 season will have two Divisons consisting of seven (7) teams each. The top four (4) teams from each divison will make the playoffs. The two divison winners will be the top two seeds and the other six teams will seed in the playoffs according to win/loss record, then points as the tie-breaker.
2006 Amendment
One Divison consisting of 14 teams. The top eight (8) teams will make the Playoffs, the other six (6) teams will make the Loser Bowl Playoffs. Normal tournament brackets for each playoff--ie First vs Worst, etc. No reseeding will take place.
2007 Amendment
The Free Agent order will reset every week according to the teams that pick up players. If you pick up a player you move to the end of the line. Example: you have pick #1 and you pick someone up, no one else picks someone up. Week #2 you have pick #14.
One (1) free agent can be picked up per week.
2010 Amendment
The weekly prize fund will change to $15 for first and $10 for second place. The playoff winner will be given a jersey of his choice (not to exceed $100) with his name and year of the season on the back.
Free agent changes: In addition to the normal waiver wire aquisitions, there will be an unrestricted free agent aquisition on Saturday at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday at 12:45 p.m. At which point, the unrestricted free agents are aquired on a first-come, first-served basis. There is also no limit on the amount of unrestricted free agents aquired.
2013 Amendment--Trades
The Commish - October 3 2013 12:35:02 PM ET
As of now, all trades will go before the whole league for approval. Each owner will be e-mailed the trade proposal and will have 24 hours to register an objection. It will take a total of seven owner objections to reject the trade. Seven is the simple majority of the 12 owners not involved in the trade. Other than doing away with trades altogether, this seems to be the best alternative. The deadline for making a trade offer is on Fridays at 11:59 p.m., which is the latest time the site would allow.
2016 Keeper Amendment
Any player that is not on the active NFL roster at some point during the regular season is not eligible to be kept. Jordy Nelson in 2015 is an example. He was injured during the preseason and was not on the active roster during the season. Since this rule was added this season a one time exception will be made for Rainbow Man who drafted Kelvin Benjamin in the last round of the 2015 draft and had him on his active roster at the end of the season. Rainbow Man, if he chooses, can keep Benjamin as a 16th round pick in 2016 draft and also as a future keeper. If he chooses to keep Benjamin for additional years, he would then lose a 6th round(2nd year kept) and a 5th round(3rd year kept). This Seems to be the fairest way to apply this new rule without screwing over Rainbow Man since what he did was within the rules in 2015.
2023 Amendment
Finally, a new amendment has been established for keepers, starting the 2024 season. An eligible keeper must be on your final active roster. The player cannot be on injured reserve.
