Additional Rules:

OVERVIEW (REVISED 2016)

  1. The ECFFL is comprised of a maximum of 24 fantasy team owners. Each owner will select a roster of players consisting of 15 players. Each owner competes each week of the regular season for a weekly prize. The top 12 finishers in the regular season then compete for playoff prizes.
  2. The League consists of (2) Conferences with (2) Divisions in each Conference. 
  3. (12) Owners per Conference. Owners from each Conference can draft the same Players.
  4. Entry Fee of $150.00 includes.  (REVISED 2016)

DRAFT (REVISED 2016)

  1. The draft will be held before the first regular season game. Drawing numbers will determine the order of the draft. The order of drawing numbers will be based on the order of finish of the previous year (regular season). Once the order of selection has been determined, Round 1 begins by the owner with the #1 draw selecting a player. This continues through the #12 pick. The order is reversed for the even rounds. (snake draft)
  2. Seating during the draft will be in the order of selection.
  3. An owner can select a player of any position he desires. When a player is selected during the draft, that selection is final.
  4. Trades are not permitted during the draft. 
  5. A New owner will select #12 in the 1st round.
  6. Two separate Draft Nights will be held for each Conference, typically the week before the Regular season on Tuesday & Wednesday  

 

POSITIONS

  1. Player positions will be determined as listed on the www.RTSports.com website.  
  2. The owners should recognize any multiple position players at the draft and the player’s official position will be voted on by the owners. 
  3. “Kordell Stewart Rule” – Owners selecting a player who switches positions during the season will be determined as follows:  If a QB becomes a RB/REC during the season, the owner with that players Team QB will not receive points for a Rushing or Receiving TD. The owner is still entitled to points from his Team QB for Passing/Rushing/Receiving TD when lined up at QB and received the ball from the Center. 
  4. The QB will not receive points if a RB/REC takes the snap from center and scores points in any way!  (Added 2009) 
  5. If a player changed positions, owners are not entitled to trade for that player unless or until he is not on any other owner’s roster.

WAIVER DAYS  (REVISED 2017) 

  1. Tuesday and Wednesday are considered “Waiver Days”.
  2. Free Agent Free for All pick up will be Thursday through Monday.
  3. Weeks 1 thru 3 - Any Owner who loses their 1st Round Draft Pick for the Year will be moved up to the top of the waiver Wire Order. (REVISED 2021)
  4. An owner may submit more than one request during “Waiver Days”.
  5. Worst to First by Total Points Scored - Waiver Days ONLY
    Players will be awarded in reverse order of total points scored for the season. The team with the fewest total points scored will be awarded a player first, if one is requested. Then the team with the second fewest total points scored will be awarded a player, if one is requested. This continues until the team with the most total points scored is awarded a player. Then round 2 of the waiver begins and the team with the fewest total points scored is awarded a second player, if requested, and so on. Each team will be awarded one player and only one player per round of the waiver wire. If a team requests no players that team will simply be skipped. Awards continue until all waiver wire request lists have been processed or all teams have been awarded the maximum number of players allowed in a waiver wire by league rules.

FREE AGENTS                  

    1. Owners may submit a request for a Free Agent pickup up to game time for the player you wish to release. Once the game starts any players in that game can not be dropped.

INJURED RESERVE (REVISED 2022) 

  1. Owners may place an injured player(s) on his roster on “IR” (injured reserve).
  2. Eligible designations - Out or worse - Includes all players listed as Opt-Out, Out, I/R, PuP, NFI, or Covid list on the NFL injury report..
    Ineligible designations - D (Doubtful), NA (Not Active), P (PuP), Q (Questionable), and SUSP (Suspended).
  3.  By placing an injured player on IR, you can protect him from another owner, while selecting a Free Agent to take his place until his return. The “IR” rule is intended for injured players only. Any player drafted who is suspended by the NFL, or any other player drafted who is not signed or is a “Holdout” is not entitled to be placed on “IR”
    1. Place an injured player on IR ($10.00).
    2. Select a replacement player from the Free Agent list to replace the IR player ($10.00).

An owner CAN put a player on I/R during the Waiver Wire period. Simply use the Waiver Wire option, place the player on IR, and select the Free Agent(s) you wish to replace the IR player.

 

The governing body of the ECFFL has the right to review transactions and veto transactions to prevent collusion.

 

NFL INJURED RESERVE / DEAD BEAT DAD RULE

 (REVISED 2001)

  1. An owner must replace a player placed on Injured Reserve (OUT FOR THE YEAR) by an NFL team during Weeks 1 through 12 at the regular fee of $10.00.
  2. If an owner neglects to submit a Free Agent pickup after one week, the Commissioner will charge him the $10.00 transaction fee.

 

TIE BREAKERS (REVISED 2015)

TOTAL POINTS

  1. Ties during the regular season remain as ties and the weekly prize is divided evenly among the winners.
  2. Ties at the end of the regular season / total points for the purpose of determining playoff spots will be determined by the owner with the highest single week total awarded the highest available playoff spot. If the owners tie the highest week total than the 2nd highest week total will be used…

PLAYOFFS (REVISED 2023)

  1. All rules of the regular season apply except:
    • No Free Agents can be picked up.
    • Ties at the end of the playoffs will be divided equally.
  1. The playoff draft will be conducted as follows:
    • The top 14 owners of the regular season will draft players from the 14 NFL teams who are participating in the NFL playoffs.
    • Top Point getter for the Regular Season will choose his/her Draft Position, then the 2nd most points will choose his/her Draft Position and so on until all 14 positions are chosen.
    • The 1st round of the draft will begin with the owner with the #1 Draft position.
    • Rounds 2 through 9 continue as a Snake Draft Format.

HEAD-to-HEAD (REVISED 2023)

  1. Each owner will compete in Weeks 1 through 14 against other owners in the Division/Conference.
  2. Divisional Winners plus two Wild Cards will compete Head-to-Head in each Conference in Weeks 15, 16 & 17.
  3. The Winners of each Conference will play Head-to-Head in Week 16 for the Head-to-Head Championship.

APPEALS  / VIOLATIONS

  1. A majority vote of the league shall apply in the event an appeal is made towards a scenario not covered in the Rules and Regulations of the ECFFL.
  2. An appeal must be made to the Commissioner prior to the 1st game of the following week. Otherwise the appeal is null and void.
  3. The ECFFL governing body is the supreme interpreters of the Rules and Regulations.

History:
The Evans City Fantasy Football League has been in existence since 1979.
The league originated at John's Bar & Grille in Evans City, Pa.
The league has evolved over time, and the league now consist of 24 owners.
The ECFFL is unique due to the number of owners. This requires each owner to do his home work due to the fact that there are a total of 64 running backs drafted, 64 wide receivers and tight ends combined drafted, a team QB, kicker and defense.
Scoring is based strictly on touchdowns, field goals, extra points and two point conversions. The defense can also score based on there points allowed.
When the regular 17 week season is complete, the top 12 point getters redraft for the playoffs from the NFL teams who have made it to the playoffs.
