Additional Rules:
Tulsa Football League Rules:

  1. Weekly Activation of Players
    1. Weekly lineups are due, by individual player, immediately prior to each NFL game that your player will play in.  This applies to Thursday Night, early Sunday, late Sunday, Sunday Night, and Monday Night games, and allows you to take advantage of any late breaking news regarding injuries immediately prior to each an every NFL game.  However, the website will NOT allow you to activate (or de-activate) any player AFTER his NFL game starts.
    2. Failure to submit player changes by game time automatically keeps previous activations for that week.
    3. The website will not allow you to activate any player that is not on your official team roster, or any players out of position.
    4. The H-back in the NFL is considered a running back in the TFL.
    5. Colin Kaepernick may only be activated in the “K-Dick” category.
  2. Player Positions and Lineups
    1. The following abbreviation are defined:
      1. QB Quarterback
      2. RB Running Back
      3. WR or REC Receiver
      4. TE Tight End
      5. K  kicker
      6. BP   Bonus Player (any position, except DEF)
      7. OPT Option Player (any position except QB, or DEF)
      8. DEF Defensive Team
    2. The weekly lineup consists of 11 players. They are 1 QB, 1 BP, 2 RB, 3 REC or TE, 2 OPT, 1K and 1 DEF.
    3. When you pick a QB, you automatically get all backup QBs on his NFL team. However,  you must start an individual QB each week.
    4. When you pick a K, you automatically get all backup Ks on his NFL team. However, you must start an individual K each week.
    5. IF a K or QB changes NFL teams, he also changes TFL teams.

  1. Standings
    1. Final Standings will be determined by Won/Loss percentage.
    2. A tie is 1/2 win and 1/2 loss. Total Points is the tiebreaker.
  2. Scoring
    1. Scoring will be performed by the official website
    2. The scoring will be calculated as follows (For yardage scores the values will be rounded down):
      1. Extra Point (kicked)                                                              1 point
      2. 2-Point Conversion (run or caught)                                  2 points
      3. Field Goal                                                                              3 points
      4. DEF scoring: Interception                                                  2 Points
      5. DEF scoring: Fumble Recovery                                         2 points
      6. DEF scoring: QB sack                                                         2 point
      7. DEF scoring: Safety                                                             6 Points
      8. Rushing TD                                                                          8 points
      9. Fumble Recovery for TD                                                    8 points
      10. Receiving TD or Interception TD                                      10 points
      11. Passing TD                                                                           6 points
      12. Blocked punt or FG return for TD (awarded to DEF)                 8 points
      13. Punt, Kickoff, Blocked Kick  returned for a TD by an individual player   20 points
      14. Rushing Yardage                                                                 1 point/10 yards
      15. Receiving Yardage                                                               1 point/10 yards
      16. Passing Yardage                                                                  1 point/20 yards
    3.
    4. Leaving a player in the active lineup during his bye week will result in a zero score for that player.

  1. The Draft
    1. The draft will consist of 18 rounds
    2. Individual players will be drafted except in the case of QB and K.
      1. Once a QB or K is drafted, all respective back-ups will automatically be assigned to the drafting franchise. (This is not done automatically by the website. The commissioner will make every effort to keep up with this, but the franchise owners should advise the commissioner when he misses one.)
      2. All QB and K from the NFL teams that are drafted by the TFL franchise will become the property of the TFL franchise whether they start the year on that NFL team or join later. (Example- Bernie Kosar starts the year as NE back-up and automatically gets assigned to the franchise who drafted Tom Brady.  Kosar gets traded to the Bears in Week 8; he automatically gets reassigned to the franchise who originally drafted the Bears starting QB.)
      3. There are no limits on the number of QBs that can be drafted by single team.
      4. When a drafted player is discovered to have suffered a significant injury (month or more in duration) after the draft starts but before it ends, the draft is paused at that point; the team which drafted the injured player gets the option to replace that injured player with any other undrafted player at that time.
      5. If an injury of similar significance occurs after the draft but before Week 1 NFL game, the team which drafted the injured player gets the option to replace that injured player with any other undrafted player.
    3. Waiver Wire
      1. There will be a  Weekly Waiver Wire (starting immediately after Week #1 results are in, and continuing on for the rest of the season)
      2. Each franchise can release UP TO TWO players per week, and each h must be associated with a free-agent claim (a player who is undrafted, and is on nobody’s roster).
      3. The tie-breaker for the same free-agent claim made by multiple franchises is the franchise who released the player with the lower (earlier) draft pick. If a franchise submitted two players on any given week, it is possible that both their free agent claims are awarded that particular week if they offered low-enough (early-enough) picks for each of them.  It is also possible that the franchise is trumped out of both free-agent selections due to tie-breaking criteria. All players who were released and failed to obtain a free-agent award, are returned to their original rosters.
      4. If you try to waive the SAME player for two DIFFERENT guys in any given week and he would win both waivers, the first waiver on your list will take precedence.
      5. If you try to waive two DIFFERENT guys for the SAME claim in any given week, and you would have won the waiver with either of your two guys, then you only give up your guy that was drafted from the later round (ie, best of the two for you).
      6. If you try to waive two DIFFERENT guys for the SAME claim in any given week, and your later round guy would NOT have won the waiver due to a tie-breaker, but your earlier round guy DOES, you win the waiver with him.
      7. All released players from any given week are not eligible to become free agents until the following week.
      8. Player releases are due at noon  Houston time on Wednesday each week, and free agents are assigned later that same day.
      9. All free agents replace the corresponding released player in the original draft order for purposes of tie-breakers, should they happen to be released again later.
      10. Any player picked up on the waiver wire must be retained for at least three weeks or until the end of the season, whichever comes first.

  1. Trading
    1. Players may be traded up to the activation deadline each week. The traded players may then be activated for that week as long as the weekly scorekeeper has been notified
    2. Players may be traded for supplemental picks but not for draft picks.
    3. Trading of draft choices is not allowed.
    4. All trades must be approved by the commissioner.
    5. No trading allowed after NFL Week #12 (as shown out on our website).
  2. Money
    1. Entry fee will be decided during each year's Draft Night. It has been $100 per year since time immemorial.
    2. Final payoff awards will be agreed on at the draft night.  Money is typically awarded to the top three to five teams based on W-L record, and also to the teams with the top three  cumulative point totals.
    3. Each week the highest activated player earns $5 and the highest activated lineup earns $10
  3. Voting and Rule Changes
    1. Each Franchise has one vote
    2. Rules are  changed by a majority vote
  4. Scheduling
    1. The weekly schedule for the year will be decided before the first NFL game.
  5. Officers
    1. The office of the commissioner and the treasure will be renewed each year.
    2. The treasurer manages the league's money and final awards
    3. The commissioner makes rulings regarding collusion and settles any disputes that arise during the season
      1. Commissioner rulings are not final and may be overturned by a majority vote
      2. The commissioner may overrule any trade he judges is not in the best interest of the TFL.
    4. Post-Season Playoffs
      1. Playoffs are conducted at discretion of Commissioner based on a poll of the league.
      2. Commissioner typically handles lineups, scoring and payouts.
      3. Scoring rules are identical to regular season.
      4. Lineups can be comprised of ANYBODY, are locked in at the start, and stay active throughout the entire playoffs, including Super Bowl,  When players get eliminated, they score zero for the remainder of the playoffs.
      5. All lineups are submitted/finalized PRIOR to the start of the playoffs (Wildcard games).
      6. Money is awarded to the top three lineups based on cumulative points scored throughout entire playoffs..
