Membership Fees
Each team must pay an entry fee of $80.00. The money will first pay for computer software used to run the league. The money will next pay $5 for every win during the regular season. The money will next pay $25 to the team with the highest weekly score during the regular season. The remainder of the money will go into a pot to be distributed to the winning teams at the end of the season.
Draft: The draft will be Wednesday, August 30th at 7:00pm Eastern time. You can either attend the draft live at Scott's house or draft online through the software. We have added the ability to trade draft positions prior to the draft. You must trade your entire draft order with another team, pick by pick trading is not allowed.
A minimum transaction fee of $1 will be charged. See transaction section for more information about bidding for free agents. This transaction fee must be paid before the player will be eligible for your starting lineup. All fees collected will go into the pot. Transaction money can be pre-paid. Any unused transaction money is returned to the owner.
Prizes
All funds remaining from memberships and transactions will be awarded to the top four teams as determined by playoffs. The pot will be split as follows:
Champion 54% Runner-up 26% 3rd place 12% 4th place 8%
Team Composition
A team will be comprised of 16 total players. The 16 players should include quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, kickers and the defense of a NFL team.
Each team must submit a complete lineup on the website each week prior to kickoff of each players game that week. If there is a Thursday or Saturday game you must start any players playing in the game prior to the start of this game. So players can be changed up until their game. This is all controlled by the website.
The commissioner must submit his lineup to the opposition by the posted time. If a team forgets to submit a lineup by the scheduled time, the previous week’s lineup will automatically be used.
The submitted lineup must be composed of following 3:
1 quarterback, 2 running backs, 2 wide receivers or tight end, 2 flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 kicker, 1 defense
Scoring
The objective is for your team of NFL players to accumulate more points, based upon their performance, than your opponent’s team. The team with the highest score is declared the winner.
The website will tabulate all results each week. However, players are responsible for verifying their scores. If there are any questions or discrepancies, contact the commissioner immediately. Results can be obtained online. Real-time scores are posted every 10 minutes. Final tabulations are done and posted within 3 hours of the final game. The software can make adjustments to the points through Thursday of the following week.
Tie games will stand in the regular season. In the playoffs, the home or higher seeded team will receive a fractional point bonus. This will prevent ties in the playoffs.
Scoring is achieved in a variety of ways including actual point scoring, defensive scoring, and performance scoring. Points will be determined in the following manner:
Point Scoring: Actual points scored by an NFL player on the owner’s submitted lineup.
+6 pts touchdown +3 pts field goal +2 pts rushing, receiving, or passing for a two-point conversion +1 pts extra point Defensive Scoring: Points awarded based on defensive performance.
+6 pts defensive or special team touchdown +2 pts safety +2 pts turnover (fumble recovery or INT) +1 pts sack +12 pts defensive shutout +6 pts defense holds team to less than or equal to 10 total points +2 pts defense holds team to less than or equal to 20 total points +6 pts defense holds opposition to +4 pts defense holds opposition to 201 to 300 total yards +2 pts defense holds opposition to 301 to 400 total yards 0 pts defense holds opposition to 401 to 500 total yards -6 pts defense allows over 500 total yards Performance Scoring: Points awarded based on the performance of individual players.
+1 pts per every 25 yards passing +1 pts per every 10 yards rushing or receiving (accumulated separately) -2 pts per interception thrown +6 pts 300 or more passing yards +6 pts 100 or more rushing yards +6 pts 100 or more receiving yards +1 pts per pass reception +3 pts 30 or more pass completions +3 pts 30 or more rushing carries -1 pts per fumble lost +6 pts touchdown of 50 or more yards (does not include defensive or special teams touchdowns) +3 pts field goal of 50 or more yards -1 pts missed field goal under 50 yards -1 pts missed extra point
Note: For players that have multiple positions such as quarterback, running back and wide receiver; the player can be considered either a running back or wide receiver and all points will be allowed, even points scored as a backup quarterback. The exception to this rule is when the player is deemed the starting quarterback for the week. In this case, the player will only be allowed to be considered a quarterback
Additional note: The defensive points given up will now only be when the defense is on the field. The software treats this as defense or special teams on the field.
Additional note 2: We will use decimal scoring or fractional scoring. The software will calculate points to 2 decimal places.
Schedule
There will be 12 teams in the league. The regular season will be 14 weeks long. Each team will play every other team one time and then play the computer average for the final 3 weeks.
The criteria for determining best record among teams in the case of 2 teams with identical records is as follows:
1. Total points scored during the regular season 2. Head-to-head record 3. Head-to-head points 4. Coin Toss
If more than 2 teams are tied at the end of the season, the first tie-breaker is total points, then head-to-head record, then head-to-head points and finally coin flips (odd team out). The tie-breakers are applied to all the tied teams until 1 of the teams are eliminated. Then the tie-breaker criteria is started again for the remaining teams at the top of the list.
Six teams will make the playoffs.
Playoff Schedule:
Week 15 3rd place vs 6th place4th place vs 5th place1st and 2nd place bye Week 16 1st place vs lowest remaining place2nd place vs highest remaining place Week 17 winners from week 15 for championshiplosers from week 15 for 3rd place Week 18 no games
Transactions
Transactions are constituted when a team trades, releases, or claims a non-roster player. A single transaction will be assessed per roster spot. For instance, if you perform a one player trade with another team, each team will be assessed a transaction. If you drop two players and pick up two free agents, you will be assessed two transactions.
The commissioner must approve all trades between teams. If the trade is questionable, the trade can be put to a vote of the owners. A trade must get over half of the owners approval. In order to allow time for owner voting, trades should be submitted by Friday. If the commissioner has a direct interest in the outcome of the trade, the assistant commissioner will determine the validity of the trade.
Claiming free agents will be done using a blind bidding system (now in the software). If you want to claim a player between the first game of the week until Wednesday at midnight, you must submit the pickup on the website and enter in your bid amount. Any pickups during this time that don't have a bid amount will default to a $1 bid. After Wednesday night and before the first game of that week, all players are available on a first come, first served basis for a transaction fee of $1. The bidding will work as follows: You submit a pickup through the software anytime during the bidding period. List the player you are after and the amount of transaction money that you are willing to pay for him in $1 increments. The deadline for bids will be 11:59 pm. The commissioner can not look at the transactions waiting for approval on the website until after the bidding has closed. The person with the highest bid for a player will receive that player. They must make room on their roster before the bid process runs, either by dropping a player ahead of time or using the contingency drop feature with the bids. If the team doesn't have room on their roster to add the player, the bid is denied by the software. If two or more people are tied with the highest bid for a player, the software picks the winner based on record. If the teams are tied, it randomly picks the winner. If you place a bid and don't get the player, you are not charged any money. There is a $25 bid cap for the season per owner. After the $25 cap is reached, the owner can still make $1 transactions after the bidding period each week.
There will be no injured reserved. You can either keep the injured player on your active roster or drop them. We increased the roster limit to 16 players to account for no IR.
There will be a trading deadline each week and for the season. Have your trades in by 5pm on Friday so there is time for a vote if needed. Trades can still be made after that time, but there is no guarantee they will be completed that week. The season trade deadline will be week 11. No trades may be made after first lineups are submitted for week 11. We will allow pickups through the season and playoffs. The Commissioner will review all drops at the end of the year and through the playoffs and will have the ability to lock high value player's dropped for the year.
Up until the first game of the season, non-drafted free agents will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Any player that is dropped during that time goes into the bid pool for week 1.
Once you trade a player, you can't reacquire him for the remainder of the season.
2020 COVID Adjustments:
This is what I have been thinking about for rule changes this year to deal with COVID-19 players and the possibility of cancelled games and/or weeks. In general, we will try to follow what the NFL does (such as rescheduling weeks to later in the season or postponing playoffs to spring) while matching it to what the software can do and they recommend.
We normally play 14 weeks regular season and use weeks 15-17 for the playoffs.
If a week of the playoffs is cancelled, push back playoff week to following week. That means the championship could be during week 18.
If multiple weeks of the playoffs are cancelled, play as many weeks as possible and split playoff pot among remaining playoff teams.
If individual games are cancelled (not the full week), we will treat those players as off that week and continue with the other games. If the NFL postpones games, we will try to allow those games to be made up as part of the week as long as it doesn’t occur after our playoffs.
In order to handle the possibility of multiple players being out for COVID during a particular week, we will have a special COVD IR for players on the NFL COVID list. The limit would be 5 players on the list. The player must be on the office NFL COVID list to be moved to our COVID IR. You also wouldn’t be able to pick up any players that are on the NFL list (or have been announced in the media as possibly having COVID) and place them on the list. It is only for your existing players that go on the list. You could still pick up a player on the NFL COVID list, but you must then keep them on your active roster. Once a player comes off the NFL list, they must be moved to your active roster or will automatically be dropped.
With the possibility of players being placed on the NFL COVID list close to game time, we would extend the free agent pickup time from Sunday at 1pm to Monday 9pm. That would allow possible replacements for a last minute COVID designation. Players can still only be picked up prior to their game’s kickoff. Once a player’s game starts, they go into the bid pool for the next week.
