FREEBALL LEAGUE RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Membership Fees - The franchise fee is $60 per team ($90 of total fees collected will go towards the web site fee and the remainder is explained in #9 below), payable in full at the time of the draft. The league will consist of two divisions of five teams.

2. Team Composition/Draft - Each team will be allowed to protect a maximum of SIX players prior to the draft. These players will serve as that team’s draft pick for each round up to and including the first SIX rounds of the draft as necessary. (One player protected would take the place of the first round selection; two players protected would take the place of the first and second round selections and so forth.) Any SIX players may be protected, and the number of players protected at a position may exceed the starting lineup requirements (below). Protected rosters will be due at announced time. The draft will be held at announced date/time. The base draft order, using inverse playoff seeding, will be provided and agreed to prior to the draft. The draft is 22 rounds and a team may select up to 27 players (max roster size), with additional draft picks acquired via trade; each roster must contain at least the starting lineup requirements at each position. The starting lineup is as follows: 1 - Quarterback, 2 - Running backs, 3 - Wide Receivers, 1 - Tight end, 1 - Kicker, 1 - Defense/Special teams

3. Schedules - The regular season will consist of 14 games, with schedules found on the league webpage. A team will be rewarded a victory when it scores more points than its opponent using the website scoring totals. Upon completion of the regular season, each division winner and four non-division winners will begin the playoffs. Those six teams will be seeded based on their final win/loss record using the tiebreaker procedures where necessary. In week 15 the wild card team with the best win/loss record (#3 seed) will play the wild card team with the worst win/loss record (#6 seed) and the two remaining wild card teams will play each other (#4 & #5 seed). The Sloth and Tapir Division winners will receive a bye in Week 15. The wild card winners remaining from Week 15 will play the divisional winners during Week 16. At that time the team having the best overall record (#1 seed) will play the winner of the wild card game that involved the #4 and #5 seeds and the #2 seed will play the winner of the wild card game that involved that #3 seed and the #6 seed. The Freeball Bowl will be played in Week 17.

4. Commissioner - John Knoblock will act as league commissioner and will be assisted by Mike Butters. The commissioner’s responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, financial matters, reviewing player transactions and settling any weekly results issues. All other league disputes not addressed within the Rules and Regulations will be decided by a majority vote of the non-involved owners, one vote per team. With regard to league expansion, fee increase or free agency, seven votes are needed to enact any changes. All other rules can be changed with a simple majority.

5. Line-ups - Line-ups must be entered in the website by kickoff. Website issues must be brought to the commissioner's attention immediately. Line-up disputes will be handled by the commissioner and brought to a league vote if considered necessary.

6. Scoring - The website provides a complete scoring breakdown by position and the website will be used as the final say on all scoring events.

7. Waivers - Waiver process will be conducted through the website. Each team has 100 free agent dollars to spend.

8. Trades - Trades of players, draft picks and free agent units between teams are allowed, subject to the following conditions: 1. Trade deadline is week 11. All trades must be processed on the website by the end of the week 11 MNF game. 2. Money may not be involved. 3. The commissioner will have the power to put a disputed or suspect trade to a league vote.

9. Prizes - Division winners will receive $50 each. Freeball Bowl runner-up will receive $100. Freeball Bowl winner will receive $310.

10. TiebreakersPlayoff seeding: Teams tied with identical win/loss records will use the following as tiebreakers: Head to Head results** Total points Inter-divisional record Coin toss ** - only used if two teams are tied. If more than two, total points will be used unless one team won all of its games against the other teams involved in the tie. Divisional winner: Teams tied with identical win/loss records will use the following as tiebreakers: Head to Head results** Divisional Record Total points Coin toss Playoff games: Decimal point scoring Total touchdowns scored by starters Total points scored by quarterback

11. Miscellaneous - "Luck Rule" - Protected player who formally retires from the NFL prior to the league draft date can, at the owner's request, be removed from their protected roster and the forfeited draft pick will be restored. A substitute protected player may not be named. This rule does not apply to contract hold outs or injuries that do not result in formal retirement from the NFL.
