Entry Fee: | The fee to enter the league is $45. It must be paid by draft day. |
League Schedule: | The 12 teams in the PFL will be divided equally into three conferences. Each team will play the other teams in its conference twice, and non-conference teams once for a total of 14 games. On weeks 3 and 12, the teams will play two games (one conference game, and one non-conference). The PFL regular season will therefore last 12 weeks. This will be followed by three weeks of playoffs to decide the champion. |
Wins/Losses: | Wins and losses will be given out to each team depending on how well they did in their head to head match-up for that week. Teams who scored more than their opponent will be awarded with a win. The other team will be “awarded” a loss. |
Tie-Breakers: | Tie breakers are decided by comparing the fantasy points of a (non-starter) designated by the teams owner. Ties are only broken during the playoffs. Ties during the regular season are considered as half a win and half a loss. Due to decimal point scoring, a tie should be quite rare. |
Playoffs: | At the end of the PFL regular season, the top team in each division and three “wildcard” teams will compete to decide the champion. Teams will play in NFL format with the top two division champs receiving a first round bye. |
Quasi-Playoffs: | Teams seeded 7 through 10 who failed to qualify for the playoffs will compete for a consolation prize. A similar procedure used in the real playoffs will be used to decide the match-ups. |
Playoff Ranking: | The division winners will occupy the top three seed positions. The rest of the teams will be ranked (seeded) according to the following list:
* Similar to tiebreakers, if the item at the top of the list is indecisive, or results in a tie, then the next lower item on the list is used. |
Serpentine Draft: | Order in the PFL draft will be determined by a random drawing of team names. The team that is picked first will select what draft position they would like (1 thru 12) first. The team who is picked second can select their draft position second , etc. Owners not present will not get to select their draft position, and will have it drawn randomly after all the present owners have selceted their draft positions. On draft day, the team who has draft position #1 will draft first, the team who has position #2 will draft second, etc. Drafting will proceed in this fashion until the last team (#12) has drafted. When this occurs, the #12 team will draft again and the order will descend back to the #1 team. This procedure will be repeated for 13 rounds (each team will draft 13 players). |
Free-Agents: | If an owner would like to pick up a free agent, he must request it through the website by Wednesday @ 12:00 Midnight with the player he wants and the amount he is willing to pay for him (minimum bid is $1). If two owners want the same player, then the highest bidder gets him. If there is a tie then the player goes to the team who submitted their bid first. |
Free Agent Money: | As explained above, free agents are picked up by bidding with money. This “money” does not come out of his/her own pocket. This money is “fake money” which is given to each team at the beginning of the season. Each team starts out with $50 of free-agent money. |
Trading: | Due by Wednesday at 12:00 Midnight. Trades may be made between two or more teams, and may include players at any position. To finalize a trade, the other owners must approve with a majority (with ties broken by the Commish). The trade will not go into effect until the following week if proposed after 12:00 midnight. Trades are not allowed after the playoffs begin. Also if you are mathematically out of the payoffs, you may not trade. |
Prizes | Prize money is distributed according to the following: Overall Champ (1st Place): $300 2nd Place: $90 3rd Place: $45 |
