MARINACCIO FANTASY FOOTBALL LEAGUE
2018
OBJECTIVES OF THE GAME
To promote fun and fellowship among league participants while also enhancing the enjoyment of the great game of football.
The Marinaccio Fantasy Football League season will coincide with the NFL season. The regular season will last 13 weeks, beginning with the first game of the NFL season. The playoffs will begin on week 14. The semifinals will be played on week 15. Since many playoff-bound NFL teams rest their starters in week 17, the Marinaccio Football League Championship (Nacho Bowl) will be played on week 16.
The MFFL will be an online league through RealTime Fantasy Sports at RTSports.com. Teams will be formed by a draft similar to the professional draft. Draft order will be determined on Draft Day. The draft order will be reversed after each round (serpentine). That is, the team drafting first in the first round will draft last in the second round, first in the third round, etc.
TEAM
The League will consist of 10 teams. Each owner will choose a name for his/her team.
The team roster will consist of 18 components. Each owner must draft:
Minimum of 2 Kickers
Minimum of 2 Quarterbacks
Minimum of 2 Running Backs
Minimum of 2 Wide Receivers
Minimum of 2 Tight Ends
Minimum of 2 Special Teams/Defenses
*The remaining 6 roster spots may be filled by any player, regardless of position, including Special Team/Defenses.
It does not matter in which order you draft your players, but by the end of the draft, you must have all of the above positions filled. Once you make a selection in the draft, the player is yours. No one else can draft him. The same goes for special teams/defenses. In all, there will be 18 rounds to the draft.
The Draft will be conducted at MFFL World Headquarters in Owings, MD and online (Usually over Labor Day weekend). Team owners will be drafting complete teams. This is not a keeper-league. No team owner may “keep” players from previous year’s teams.
Draft Day trading will be allowed! If a trade includes trading Team X’s draft choice in a particular round to Team Y for 2 of Team Y’s draft choices, unless otherwise specified, Team Y also gets Team X’s 18th round draft choice. See section on Trades under Roster Moves for further trading rules.

WINNING THE GAME
The winner of each game is the team with the highest number of points accumulated by their active players in head-to-head competition.
Ties that occur between teams in head-to-head competition will be broken in the order that follows:
ROSTER CHANGES
An owner may change his roster at any time during the season. Adds/Drops must be made online on the Website. The Free Agency period will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday and close at 12:30 pm Saturday of each week. Dropped players will not be available for Free Agency until 24 hours after he is dropped. Same rule applies to Special Teams/Defenses.
Except in the case of Injured Reserve (see below), roster changes do not have to be made by position, as long as you maintain the minimum number of players at each position. That is, if you drop a running back, you do not necessarily have to pick up a running back. You may drop a running back to acquire a quarterback, provided you still have 2 running backs on your roster.
TYPES OF ROSTER CHANGES
Free Agency:
An owner may make 10 free roster moves via free agency during the course of the regular season. Additional free agency moves may be purchased from the league at a cost of $2.00 each. A free agency move is when the owner “releases” a member of his team (player, special teams/defense) and picks up an available player from the Free Agent pool.
Injured Reserve:
If the NFL team places your player on Injured Reserve (IR), then you may drop him from your roster and pick up an available substitute player from the Free Agent Pool who plays the same position. That is, if you drop a running back, you must pick up a running back. This move does not count against your free agency moves. It is a free move, provided it is done correctly.
Trades:
Inter-team trading is allowed, regardless of player positions. You are allowed 4 trades during the season. This includes trades made on Draft Day. Additional trades may be purchased from the league at a cost of $2.00 per team. The trading deadline is 12:30 pm Saturday prior to the week 9 games. Trades are to be made on the Website during free agency hours of the week the trade is made. Trades do not count as free agency moves, however, each manager will be responsible for making the appropriate roster moves to return his/her team back to the specified composition. Simply dropping a player from your roster will not count against your free agency moves, however, picking up a free agent to make your roster correct will be counted as a free agency move.
FEES
The Owner’s Fee to enter into the league is $60.00. All entry fees collected, minus Website Fees and the cost of Draft Day supplies, will go directly towards the prize pool. Owner’s Fees must be paid in full by the start of games for week 3. Any team owner who has not paid the Owner’s Fee prior to the start of the games for week 3 will automatically forfeit that game and any future games until the Owner’s Fee is paid in full.
