***YOUR DUTIES AS A TEAM OWNER***
Code of Ethics:
A. Collusion will not be tolerated, and will result in an immediate ban.
B. The intentional tanking of a game is strictly prohibited. It directly affects the integrity of the league, and those teams in the playoff hunt. You are expected to put the forth the best lineup possible, each and every week, whether in contention or not. I know that lineup decisions are subject to interpretation, but any that are deemed highly suspect may be changed by the Commissioner, and could be cause for penalty, fine or expulsion from the league. Bottom line, play to win, every single week.
C. Access the site and check for trades regularly. If you are offered a trade, respond. Even if you think the trade is absurd, let the other owner know that you aren't interested, and possibly counter with an offer more to your liking.
D. You are required to field a valid starting lineup each week. This helps keep the integrity of the league intact. If you are going out of town and will not have access to your team, please set your lineup before you leave, and let the Commissioner know ahead of time so he can watch out for any potential problems with your lineup, ie. late week injuries or game time decisions. Do not start any player who is listed as "out" on the injury report. Same goes for any player who is suspended or on the NFL's Injured Reserve list. Do not start any player who is on their bye week. Basically, do not start anyone who is definitely NOT playing in an NFL game. Do not leave any starting positions "empty." These infractions are illegal and will result in a monetary fine.
E. By all means, talk trash and form rivalries, but don't cross the line. Keep it to football. Don't make it personal.
F. Be active and have fun.
-----------------------------------------------Explanation of a few League Policies:
League Schedule, Playoffs & Payout Structure:
The regular season will be 15 weeks. The playoffs will run in Weeks 16 & 17. There will be four playoff teams, the top four teams in the standings. The standings will be based on head to head record, followed by total points. In the event of a tie for a playoff spot, the first tie-breaker will be total points, then head-to-head record, then total points scored head-to-head vs. opponent, then a coin flip. The #1 seed will play the #4 seed in the first round with the #2 and #3 seeds squaring off. The two winners from the first round will compete for the League Championship in week 17. The other two playoff teams will compete to determine the 3rd and 4th place teams.
The payout schedule will be as follows:
League Champion - 50% of entry fees($750) + 50% of transaction fees
2nd Place - 25% of entry fees($375) + 25% of transaction fees
3rd Place - 15% of entry fees($225) + 15% of transaction fees
4th Place - 10% of entry fees($150) + 10% of transaction fees
NFL Picks Winner - $75(taken from loss fees)
Total Points Champion - $75(taken from loss fees)
Highest Score of the Season - $25(taken from loss fees)
Weekly High Score - $5 per week, $70 total(taken from loss fees)
Site fee - $100(taken from loss fees)
Draft Order:
The six non playoff teams will all have their names entered into a random drawing for the first six picks of the following year's draft. It will be videoed and conducted by the Commissioner in the offseason. The four playoff teams will slot into the final four spots based on where they finish in the playoffs. **This is to prevent anyone from tanking games to get a better draft pick, which is against the league's conduct rules.**
Waiver Wire Policy, Free Agent Transactions, Starting Lineups & Trades:
Free agents can be acquired on Wednesdays, via the waiver wire. The waiver wire will be done using a blind bidding system. Each team will start the season with $300 in free agent cash. This is fictional money used to bid on available players. The minimum bid will be $1. Once your free agent cash runs out, you will only be able to pick up players during the "free-for-all" transaction period(which is explained below).
The trading of free agent dollars is allowed.
Bids must be submitted by 11pm on Wednesdays. If there is a tie bid for a player, the team that is ranked lower in the standings will get that player. This system gives everyone a shot at the best free agents. Who actually gets them depends on how much they are willing to pay for them.
The "free-for-all" transaction period will begin at 6am on Thursday morning, and will run through the start of the Monday night game. During this time, an owner may pick up any player who is a free agent. However, a player can not be picked up once his game has started. Players picked up during this period do not require the use of free agent cash.
Starting lineups are technically not due until 9PM on Monday, but you must set a players status before his game starts. Basically, you'll want to have your core lineup set by Sunday at 1PM, then make a change or two for the late and prime time games, if you so desire. Pay attention to Thursday and Saturday games, as well as certain holidays. If you have a player in such a game, his status is locked once that game starts.
Trading is allowed until the trade deadline, which will be at noon on Sunday of Week 12. Offseason trading begins immediately following the season and is free.
Injured Reserve:
Any player who is listed as Q, D, O, T, S, X or U, OR, is on a bye, may be placed on the IR. However, once they're off their bye week, OR are no longer on the injury report, they must be activated or released immediately. If you fail to activate such a player by kickoff of their respective game, the Commish will release the player from your team, regardless of who it is.
Position Eligibility:
All players will only be eligible to play at the position they are officially listed at on this site. In the rare event that a player switchws positions full time, the Commissioner may change their position designation. This will be evaluated on a vase by case basis.
Fees:
Entry Fee $150
Each Player Acquired $5
Each Player Activated from IR $2.50
Trades $5
Losses $5,
Ties $2.50
Illegal Roster Penalty $10 for the first offense. Repeat offenses will be $10 per infraction.
Survivor Pool $20. Each GM will submit their entry fee and Survivor Pool entry fee, PRIOR to draft day.
NFL Picks Contest:
You must have your pick for each game entered before the game starts. The Commish will not submit picks for anyone after a game has started. The contest will run from Week #1 through Week #18 of the NFL schedule, and picks are against the spread.
Survivor Pool:
Picks must be submitted weekly on the site. You can only use each team once. If your team loses, you're out. If you fail to submit your pick on time, you're out. If you don't submit by kickoff of the early games, but have a team left to use in the late games, you can still enter a pick. Last man standing wins the pot - $200.
**Most rule changes will be determined by a league vote, but some things may be left to the discretion of the Commissioner. In the event of a tie after a league vote, the Commissioner will make the final decision. League conduct issues will be handled by the Commish. However, he reserves the right to take any issues he deems necessary to either a league vote, or to the other veteran members of the league: Mike Torok, Ken Clements, Nelson Biggs and Dave Seeger. The Commish does ultimately get the final say though, and all of his decisions are final.
